+1 I completely agree. That is why I have shyed away from 35" that and I really don't need them. I drive my Jeep constantly and its my only vehicle.

I have 3.21 gears and thats my biggest deterant and the stock Dana 30. To have a 2dr with 35s for me would include

regear 4.56 at least
dana 30 strengthining kit trusses gussets chromo shafts hd ball joints
Tire carrier
and 35s of course

Thats a lot of money for a bigger tire. If it was a street queen sure, I could just throw them on and be done. But I like to wheel my jeep and do so moderately (remember a daily driver can't break anything)

Im a person that if its worth doing, its worth over doing. I don't want any issues down the road and I also don't want a jeep that gets lost in a crowd. I like the 33" and 2.5" look. It looks like its there for business and to crawl accordingly. Not slamming people with 35s they have their place, but to keep them on a daily driver it just seems like a waste to have that big expensive of a tire for something that gets driven everyday. Im not frugal at all...ha I just dont see a point to spend all that coin on 35s. just my 0.02 cents. As always do what you want and what you love! Ignore those that criticize your decisions!

4drs is a different story. Recently had this convo with a buddy of mine. Who has a 2014 JKU, 4drs only look good/mean (to me atleast) with a 3.5" lift and 35 or 37. I feel a lot more money needs to be spent on a 4dr to get it looking mean because everything has to be bigger, tires lift etc. JKUs have their advantages tho and I will not get into that.

BeyondYourFrontDoor I guess it depends on what you need vs. what you want vs. where you are going to end up. IMHO, a tiny lift with no step up in tires doesn't really gain much capability for the effort. I made that mistake with my Taco... if you want clearance you need to go up in tire size or all your suspension bits are at the same place.

"Looks" is a subjective thing, so there is no right answer. I like the look of 37's on a 2.5" lift as a good compromise between trail cred and on-road manners. But, when I park beside a bigger setup it does look small... likewise, when I park beside a stock Rubi or a mini-lift, I think they look silly.

Lots of pics to look at... if it fits your budget and you like it, then go for it. I fell into a big trap on my Taco of redoing work because 'the cheap way' didn't really get me much, and really wasn't that much cheaper than a real setup. I didn't make that same mistake with my JKU.

benzat i keep coming to this thread to tell my self 33s are fine and they look good .. lol everybody wants 35s and i would love to get 35s the problem is with 5.25$ a gallon in Canada and as a dd 35s isnt the best choice i wanan go with 2"OME and 9000 rancho shocks hopefully that would look good ..any thoughts?

mommymallcrawler I plan to do 33's with a 2.5 sometime soon - will post up pics when I get it all set up. I am just leery of going bigger and not being able to get into the Jeep. But if I find I don't like the 33's, tires are consumables-they will need replaced at some point and I could always do 35's then if I was so inclined. So I have some comfort that it isn't a "permanent" decision - I get to make it all over again in so many miles.

Sasquatchewan TF coil lift W/Bilsteins 33" by 12.50 by 17" nitto's
Not all 33's are the same size also goes for 35" tires + weight is different I went down from 35" to 33" for better performance & towing cause I didn't want to regear 33" & 411's work great for my needs & wants

Gdirrty Anyone running Teraflex leveling kit (non coil) with stock 32s and 1.5" wheel spacers to balance the look/stance? I'm thinking of doing this on my 14 JKURX mainly because I think the stance is slightly narrow looking.

I got a white jeep and a 2.5 inch lift and been looking for the right tire to go with it and it seems I might of found it. Where and what did you pay for the tires? Also, did you use spacers?

Hack12 I think 33's look just fine with a 2.5" lift. I just switched from a Teraflex Leveling Kit to a Rubicon Express 2.5" Coil Lift with Bilstein 5100 Shocks.

Those look perfect for the lift u got. I wouldn't go bigger.

XPADREX I bought the TF spacers at the same time... I saw some debate as to whether or not they were required... but TF said "yes", so I said "ok".

I wondered if the 1.25 vs 1.5 inch would be an issue... but from what I have read, no. Let's hope not.
