Happy Friday, North Texas-Tarrant County-and-Surrounding-Area Jeepers!
I'll leave you with some good weekend advice...

|HOOCBB||Anyone know where I can get the Velcro replaced on my soft windows? I can get another 2 years out of these easy as long as the repair doesn't cost too much.|

|BardoFett||Thanks for your input, guys. I think I'm gonna head up to Collins Bros Jeep this weekend to check them out...maybe see if I can pick up a used bumper. I'll ask about lifts while I'm there...|

Does a greater lift height (3"+) require additional support, i.e. longer shocks, taller springs, etc.?

I had an 05 LJ for several years. Just sold it and bought a JKU. Sure wish I hadn't, but that's another story. I had a 3.5" Rubicon Express super flex lift, and I absolutely loved it. Articulation for days, and once I replaced the shocks with bilsteins the on road ride was great!
I'm not sure I would go that route now because rubicon express was bought out by 4wheel parts, which means they will likely replace some of the more expensive parts with Chinese stuff. When I dump my JKU and pick up another LJ I will put the metalcloak game changer lift on it, with 6 pack shocks. The shocks can be used for prerunning, which means they will soak up the bumps. The CAs have a special joint (I forget the name) that provides a ton of flex, and still maintains stock CA angles.
NEway....that's my choice. Whatever you decide to do, I hope it brings you years of wheeling fun!!!

|TheYetiGrowZup||I did mine with help from my bro when I went back to El Paso in the summer. If you need help (manual labor, jack stands or jack) let me know.|

|BardoFett||Okay so who all has done a lift? Think I'm about ready for the ol TJ to get a little taller... maybe 2 or 3 inches. Any thoughts/advice?|

Here's an idea for the next mod meet: Got some conduit clamps and made myself a simple bumper shovel mount.
Then, I went inside and finished up a new shift boot design so some other jeeper can mod his rig:

Not very active in here!
And DFW guys recommend a good paint shop? Once I get some minor things taken care of on the new rig i'd like to repaint it. Need some recommendations and any ideas on cost?

|mister ed||Saying hello from the north Fort Worth/Keller area. Been on the forum while but alway had JK's so perused other forums for JK specific. Well...we just picked up a TJ and this seems like a good area for info. Might have to check out the Bronson Rock deal.|

|BardoFett||Didn't really have a specific time or place in mind, just throwin' out the idea...I don't even have any mods to put on, right now...Although I'm always eyeing a hockey puck budget lift...And of course, I can help anyone replace their shift boot!!|

|Lawless||Hey peeps! Quick off the topic question here. Anybody near 360 & 20 have a chainsaw I can borrow for a couple hours? Got a couple tree limbs I gotta chop up from the storm the other day. Thanks.|

So I realize I've probably got one of oldest rigs in the area (97 TJ), which means I don't care if it gets a little banged up...but if the rest of you guys aren't afraid of gettin' your hands (or your jeep) dirty, we should have a "mod-meet"...where we meet up, bring some tools and help each other do some installs...
I'm talking relatively simple things like springs, shocks, lights, mufflers, air intakes, etc. Now that it's not a thousand degrees outside, it might actually be pleasant to work outside...
