Thank you. I just found that out this morning. I looked over the "build sheet" I ordered from Jeep and it listed it right there. Dang that thing is handy!

I am going to miss 80.

DarthLEGO Seeing as we are all talking about regearing and 33s.... I just ordered all my toys and awaiting delivery.

So, should I regear with?
33" DuraTracs
3" suspension lift
6cyl 2006 LJ

The problem is I don't know what ratio I have. where do I look that up?

Tires and lift aren't done yet. This is my DD, but I don't do a lot of highway driving. Except for the occasional road-trip. Thx!

Oh and I trimmed up my stock flares 1 inch and I made sure I had bump stops. 1"-1.25BL" probably coming soon.

Very nice! That's exactly the look I'm going for.
Thanks for the correction, but yeah 33" duratracs are definitely what I'm going for, I was just concerned about the gearing. How does it do offroading with the stock 4.10s and the 33's?

Anyone know the gearing for a 97 SE 4cyl 5speed? I've read 4.10/11 can anyone confirm? And would 33's be pushing it?

hmiller I'm having a huge battle b/t 31-33" tires and can't figure out which one to get.. right now I'm leaning towards 32's
10-09-2012 11:59 AM
04ORX On the red one, it might look a little higher cuz the fenders are cut.
But I loved that setup. I wheeled a lot when I had that one. Performed very well for me. That and me not really wanting bigger then 32s is why I'm going the same route with my current jeep. To me, it's more about driving skills rather then biggest rig and lots of skinny peddle.

hmiller i got a 3.25" lift and looking at getting 33" duratracs
10-08-2012 08:21 PM
Lookin2buy h - IF I do the lift....which I probably WILL , I am uncertain at this point...but yes for sure I'll keep the 31's. I want to go very mild on the lift on this one....I think I was looking at a Daystar spacer lift...but have yet to research that enough...since I'm on the fence about the lift right now (and out of money lol)
10-08-2012 08:06 PM
hmiller ok Thanks!
10-08-2012 08:03 PM
kfdjason7620 If you're in fairly flat land then I would go with the 33's, and you might wanna look into 10.5's, they'll save you a little weight
10-08-2012 07:56 PM
hmiller but still should go with 32" over 33" if i don't want to re gear right now?

Correct!! He has the 32RH tranny which, when taken care of, is a beast!

If you have 3.73 you will be good with 32s but no bigger with out rehearing for extra torque....

They would get you close with the factory arms, then when you deside to upgrade to aftermarket arms just get adjustable ones then you will have the 4" lift... And you can do the slip yoke eliminator kit to the t-case and get ride of that factory driveshaft in the rear...

I know I didn't really the regearing question...but wanted to point out that IMO 31's are a nice size, have a good look to it, and still very streetable...Like I said, I don't feel the need to go any bigger at all, and I didn't want to go wider either because I'll be driving it in the winter here too...
what kind of 2' lift are you getting and will you keep your 31's with it?

I have one in my jeep and hate it!!!!! I have learned to live with it but hate how it shifts out way to early into top gear you can be cruzing along find and then it shifts and no power I am about to regear mine from 4.10s to 4.88s to solve this problem...

I think you probably have 3.73 gears... Being it is a X model and it has the 4.0....
As for the axle lean down and look if you have the rubber stopper for a drain plug in diff cover it is Dana35 if it is a metal on it is a Dana44...

hmiller im not sure but I'm pretty sure i have the 3 speed auto
i'll have to look up the axle
