juan_p__m In my 98 Sport the AIRBAG light comes and goes, at times the tach and speed die with the light, a good smack brings the back to life and shuts off the light, looks like bad contacts, anyone knows a permanent repair?

dmw I found the oxygen sensors. There are two post-cat sensors. Are they the same sensor or are there two different types?

dmw My fan switch was bad. Easy fix with a new part.
I bought an O2 sensor and plan to install it to fix the check engine light. Where is the post-catalytic converter sensor located? Do I need to take the metal plate off that is under the car?

Gumpit I have had several Jeeps that have had this problem. It is usually(at least in my cases) been a bad connection in the back of the cluster. When it happens again.SMACK down on the dash above the cluster..It should make the light go out..Let us know.Randy

Sb5551 DMW,
Check the blower motor resistor.

I am not sure about jeeps, but on almost any other car ive seen with this problem it has been the blower motor resistor burning out.

dmw I did the trick where you put the ignition into the "on" position 3 times w/in 5 seconds. It kicked out the p0138 code (post-cat O2 sensor). I assume I need to replace that but I also assume that is a different issue than the airbag/blower motor.
PS - My blower motor works in the lowest position but it won't blow any harder than that.
?? Thanks for your help!

CATALYST Buy a code scanner and see why your lights are on . I personally have the airbag and engine light on . I pulled the codes for the engine light and it is caused by evaporative emissions . I have a custom fuel tank and have removed some stock fuel components . Also I have removed the fuse for the air bags . Now I know and you can too !

dwdrums801 my friend works as a mechanic at a jeep dealer so when I get home (mid aug.) ill have him fix it and let all you guys know what the problem could be
07-19-2007 02:11 PM
Sammyboy02468 Yea, the bad thing about it is, its messing with my turn signals, the ac blower isnt working, and the bag lights is still on. All of which has to work and the airbag light off to pass inspection in VA, and guess what......i need an inspection hahaha
07-19-2007 01:35 PM
dwdrums801 stupid airbags..... iv never even seen one go off...from seeing jeeps fall stright on the front to raming into other cars
07-19-2007 01:23 PM
activelydying Could it be a bad connection behind a gauge panel?
07-19-2007 01:20 PM
Sammyboy02468 My sahara doesnt have a passenger airbag on/off switch though. Its gotta be loose ground somewhere
07-18-2007 08:15 PM
4.0l sahara My airbag light stays on if the pass air bag is on if I turn the pass airbag off the light goes off.
07-18-2007 03:22 PM
dwdrums801 i got a similar problem..... but when my air bag light goes on sometimes all my guages will too buti ts not every time there both together
07-18-2007 02:43 PM
Sammyboy02468 I will have to try that, Yea mine does the same thing, bag light comes on ac blower goes out, then the lights get all screwy, sometimes the brake lights dont come one, sometimes the signals dont work, sometimes the signals only work on one side with the brake light out as well,........I love jeeps but they have so many electrical problems lol

I have had a similar problem twice since I bought my '02 TJ last October. I would shut the engine of with the key, run into the store, come back out and start it, the airbag light would stay on, the radio would quit working along with the turn signals and the wipers, maybe more but that is all that I checked. If I put the key into the air bag "on/off" and turn it off then on everything comes back to life and all is good again. I guess these things must have a road gremlin or two in them. Scooby

Tj Bunch Check to see if your setting a code then see where that takes you.
07-18-2007 01:11 PM
blownfanswitch I'm not sure a/b the airbag or the break lights, but i do know that the top two speeds on my ac blower do not work at the moment...getting hot, so i may have to go see the dealer
07-18-2007 12:45 PM
Sammyboy02468 Will come on and stay on for awhile then go off. whenever the airbag light comes on, the ac blower stops working and the brake lights go out to. fuses are good first thing i checked.
07-18-2007 11:36 AM
xuseme Does the light come on and stay on all the time? Every vehicle I have had has done that and I never have had any problems aith the airbags. Used to fret over it but just gave up. Have you checked the fuses yet?

Airbag light on

My airbag light came on in my 97 sahara. There is no grinding or clicking noise behind the steering wheel that would indicate a bad clock spring. Is there a common ground that comes loose or i should check that could be causing this?

Thanks
Sam
