Just asking again - Has anyone installed a "front" receiver hitch (like Reese or Curt) with their Rampage bumper installed?

|Edge1912||Well - still waiting on the replacement bumper, but while waiting I think I will ask a question. Has anyone installed a "front" receiver hitch (like Reese or Curt) with their Rampage bumper installed? If so, were any modifications needed or was a straight bolt on?|

I will definitely post a picture once I get it installed. I am going to follow up with Rampage on Monday to see how the replacement is coming, I cannot wait to get it and get it installed.
On different note, for the front bumper, I had planned to install a hitch mount and use a hitch mount winch plate. We had a new Harbor Freight open, and they had the specials going for the Badlands 12K winch that was too good to pass up. I bought it and the hitch mount plate, got them home and assembled and realized there is NO WAY I could carry that through mud from the back to the front, so it will be getting mounted to the front bumper. Now I need to see if I can find the tapered grade 8 bolts locally, or order them online. I may just do what others did and drill four holes through the bumper and mount the winch through the bumper, mounting plate, and then into the winch. Just not sure yet which route to go. I will post pictures of the winch mount when that is done too...

Hey - just wanted to say thanks for this thread - I read through the entire mega front bumper thread, and then this one and decided to also get the rampage front bumper. It installed great and I was able to get to the top bolts from the top pretty easily with the little plastic cover off. Can't load pictures yet, but I will add a couple when I can.
Question for those who reinstalled it backwards - the drain hole is right above the fog light plug, so any (all) water draining from there will run right onto the wires and plug. It is water proof, but is it water proof enough for a steady dousing from the hole right above? - Thoughts?
Another question - is anyone using this bumper to pull their Jeep as a toad, and if so, what did you do to it? I called Rampage before I bought it, and the person I spoke with said it may be fine, but could not officially say or recommend it would be safe to pull by the shackle tabs unless you welded in supports and such. I liked the bumper enough from this thread that I bought it since I am probably a few years from needing to pull it that way. Anyone using it to pull that way?
As a side note - I searched for a rear bumper too, and wanted a full width rear so wound up getting the Rampage rear as well. I found out they have finally tested and rated the hitch and it is the same rating as the stock hitch now, and is supposed to also come in the box with the bumpers. I bought it at 4WD's Jeep Jamboree show in Columbiana OH last Saturday, and one of the folks from Rampage was set up there. I got it home and sure enough the powder coating was pealing, and it did not have the hitch in the box. I called Rampage and they are working through 4WD to get me a replacement. It is taking a little time, but I can't wait to get it on the Jeep. Just thought I would share...

|JeepHerz||So much for textured being easier to touch up!|

Respond from rampage tech support:
Thank you for your recent purchase of Rampage Products.
We do have a method to touch up the powder coating.
You will need the following paints.
1. Rustoleum Hammered.
2. Krylon Fusions Semi Gloss Black.
You will need to spray the Hammered paint and once dry coat with the Krylon Semi-Gloss.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your continued support of Rampage Products!

If you have semi-gloss- this is what you'll want - perfect match.

I didn't have any bolts with mine either so I used some bolts I had in the garage and painted them black. I didn't mount a winch so I used the bolts to cover up the holes.

On a side note. Got some flat black rustoleum and it seems a little too flat. Would a satin black be a better match?
Also winch plate came with not bolts) but the under side is appropriately tapered.
Can't remember what the exact bolts were and don't feel like rereading this entire thread to find it. Have a fastensal in town so will go there.

Ok so got the bumper! One corner was sticking out of the box and had a teeny tiny bit of bare metal showing. I will touch it up.
Bunper is installed but how do you get to the drivers side top inside bolt? I can not reach it for the life of me!!!!!!

just ordered mine from amazon yesterday! should be here tuesday with free prime shipping.
This will be my first "majorish" mod to my 14 Granite Sahara Unlimited
When i first got the jeep I found a pic of this bumper on a jeep and knew it was the style I wanted!
2mos of looking I was about to order a rockhard 4x4 bumper until I ran across another picture of this and knew it was the right one for me! Not only is the styling exactly what I wanted but it weighs a bit less and costs quite a bit less than others of the same category.
this is the pic that did it for me!
