I personaly would LOVE to be able to set aside the cash to buy a OME kit. But the reality is that most people try and save up and then something comes up and you have to use that savings and your back to square one.
If your wanting a cheap lift that will allow you to throw a bit bigger tire on then the spacers are going to be fine.
Eventualy you may want to get a whole kit. At that point. Just sell the spacers and old springs to another jeeper starting out. Pay it forward so to speak.
I have noticed that alot of jeepers go step by step going bigger and bigger.
So chances are there is someone out there that will be willing to let their spacers and springs go for cheap.
I know i will be doing that when i get the cash together for a whole kit.

IMO your 1998 springs are worn out.
Instead of buying some stiff Rubicon springs and spacers I would spend some more $$$ and buy a real spring lift kit with longer springs.
I had Rubi springs with spacers. After that with the 2.5" OME lift the ride was so much better. IMO the 2 spacer kit was wasted money.

I have a 99 Tj and just put in a 2" spacer kit along with some stock 04' rubi springs.
I didnt know i was sagging at all but i put my tape against my fender before and after the swap. stock i was at 32" after the spacers and springs i was at 34 1/2" (in the front)
The springs themselves will not give you lift. They will bring you back to stock level. The rubi springs are a bit thicker then the tj ones. The rides seems to be a little bit stiffer but not much. I like it alot more then what it was.

front end sag
Well my '98 wrangler 4banger appears to be sagging in the front just a tad. This Christmas im planning on getting the 2inch skyjacker spacer kit with the hydro shocks, but want to see it at its full potential, so i want to upgrade my springs to get the sag to go away first. on ebay a guy is selling the springs from a 2005 Rubicon Unlimited and he says itll fit my TJ.
what does 'fit' mean, i know its probably not a simple switch, what would need to be done? itll sit a bit higher i know but will i need to lower anything or add anything else?
how terrible will the ride feel, and would it get better eventually? and is this the same no matter what used springs i switch to?
