|elclipo||What's the size of your crossmember tubing? I have the crossmember kit now in my possession and want to go get the rest soon.|

|GoldenSahara00||Sure. It's a great skill to have but it does take some time to develop and effort to learn and do well.|

I just figure this way I can also weld up other things that would be really interesting to make like bumpers, tire carriers, sliders , etc.
Sorry don't mean to pester you with all these questions... You're just in the same situation as me so I'm trying to figure out how it worked out for you.

Where do you get most of your scrap metal at?
I'm on a budget just like yours so I can't go all out

Did you teach yourself to weld for the 8.8?
I've been contemplating purchasing a welder and setting up all the brackets myself but I wouldn't have anyone to show me all the ropes so I would be entirely self taught.
I'm not too sure if I would trust the welds without someone making sure I'm doing it right...

|GoldenSahara00||I have a new build thread: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f322/go...ml#post6169202|

|GoldenSahara00||Few pics of how the rear end/departure improved. Much better. Couldn't find any pics that really showed how bad it was before mostly because I avoided that.|
|11-05-2013 04:17 PM|
|GoldenSahara00||Still on the lookout for axles tires or other fun parts. Should be making purchases on stuff or stuff to build around January.|

|jarrods2000tj||my girlfriend keeps telling me to cut my fenders t fit bigger tires my response "they are way to pretty to cut" lol|

|GoldenSahara00||With only 3 inches of lift and the axle brackets corrected the coils are pretty much as good as they are gona get as far as the buckets. Looks good. Definitely get rid of some of that bumpstop down the road if you can.|

Here's the top bucket we made. For those that haven't seen it.
|09-30-2013 11:12 PM|
Looks good. We center the coil bucket in wheel well and adjusted axle from there. I have 6" of bump stops with 2.5" coils. I have lots more to go up once we build flares, I'll cut the tub.

Better pic of the "stretch"
It's not much. When I hiline the rear I'm gona cut some out towards the rear but for how the bumpstops/shocks limit up travel and I don't get anywhere close to body interference.

Yea we got around a bit hit every area. And yeah when I set up the brackets I set the lowers forward a little more and adjusted the uppers to use all the clearance I could that I gained from the Rokmen GTS. Idk how much stretch I got because I didn't measure before and after but I got a little. Maybe 1.5 inches so nothing substantial but it's as much as possible.
Next up is a little front stretch I hope when I do the front axle. Lower it a tiny bit ( 2 inch rear springs and remove spacers from front) highline add 37s and outboard w new shocks. Then wheel forever.

|Hums99||Did you move your rear axle back? I gained 2.5" it appears you did it one of your photos.|

|Hums99||Awesome video! I kicking myself for not coming. I'll be there next time You were on some trails I didn't recognize but some looked like they were clear in the back at the tick garden.|

too bad you couldn't make it out scott.
Had a great day, didn't go too hard but had some fun, hit some obstacles I couldn't before the swap, walked up pretty much everything, only got denied once but It's pretty crazy and I only gave it one crack and based missed it. Tire lost traction just as it was coming over the top of the shelf and pivoted onto the belly. I got some good use out of the skid and she held up great. Theres a few shots of the belly and stance now w/ everything done.
Also here is a shot of a local guy scott's buggy. pretty sweet, and a cool guy. He does a lot for Rock Run which is where we were wheeling, it's an up and coming OHV park, they have around 4000 acres, but are mostly ATV/side by side and bike trails, but they are expanding to fit us guys in.
