agentw0 Personally I like my sirius and it is worth every penny, I hate regular radio, the programming stinks and there are way too many commercials...

Sure the stock has taken a beating, but I dont see sirius/xm going anywhere anytime soon with the millions of subscribers that they do have.

I was just going to hardwire in a block of extra outlets

4Jeepn Okay, not sure if your year has it, but on mine I had two power sources(marked wires) behind the glove box. One switched and one live. Just splice into one of these and go from there, assuming you already have not used these of course.

They may go under but the (a) service will stay. Just like the auto companies. Going bankrupt could be the best thing to happen to them - and the American consumer.

They are one in the same now. And XM has suffered for it.

mr4x4 I like sirius
I dont have to pay them monthly or yearly I payed for the lifetime membership
I checked out XM and there was not as much channels for me to listen to as sirius ( or my type of music channels)
now its sirius xm I get some of the XM channels
and its great when you dont have to carry any CD's when on a road trip
when I drive to Cali all the stations are mexican stuff (well thats all I have ever heard in southern cali)
when I drive to moab all you get is a church channel
and when you are in the rockys in colorado wheeling and out of range of the local radio stations I still have my satilite radio

When you find out you're wasting money throwing it to sirus, you need to change your credit card number to keep them from taking money from your account.
I've gotten 3 bills from them because they continue to charge my canceled account. There service is Indians and stupid women who can't understand English.

you cant cut that plug off it wont work the sirius plug has a computer chip in there that controls the power that goes into the sirius unit

you can open up the sirius plug and soder a wire to the power and one wire to the ground then wire it in I used the same wire that powers my stereo
then the plug is all behind the dash

Hardwiring an Extra Outlet

I was just wondering if anyone has Hardwired in an extra Cigarette Lighter Outlet and where they tapped into?

I have the two now in my 06 Rubicon, but I want to mount a bank of 3 or 4 recepticales on the right side of my center console. I have some wiring knowledge, but I am lacking in diagrams for the Wrangler and I am trying to avoid hours of tracing wires to find the right one.

two would be enough if they were more inconspiculous, I want to power my sirius, but I don't want to have that giant plug sticking right out there all the time.

Thanks
