I also have this headunit set up. Works great, very responsive, and has a clean look to it. I am very happy with it

There's a bracket that needs to be removed(pic below). It sits above and behind the factory radio. It must be unscrewed and removed for the install of most double din aftermarket radios.

Also, a bezel is needed: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and Can-bus wiring harness(I used this): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (this is if you don't have a factory amp, there are different ones for the factory amp and also harnesses from Pac-audio).
If you have steering wheel controls and want to retain them: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or a Pac-audio unit.

Is that head unit easy to install, wiring wise? Is there a lot of extra wiring or anything to keep the steering wheel controls and all other stock functions that might run though the head unit ? Thanks

I didn't retain the use of Bluetooth because I had the base head unit in my Jeep. It was the base head unit with "premium" (ha!) audio system. It didn't come with Bluetooth to begin with.

So I gained Bluetooth.

I did retain the steering wheel controls because I went with the PAC RP4-CH11 module.

NWranglerS Here is a pic of my head unit I will be eventually putting in:

Does anyone have pics of a single DIN like this? Lynskey, any photos of your head unit all put together? Thanks guys.

Dj Captain I went with a flip down Pioneer, and gave up my back seat until I can afford the stealth box from JL Audio

smaxberry Pioneer AVH-4300DVD. I am pretty sure it is disconnected. It has a connection for everything. If you have screens in the back, it can display a separate video than on the head unit. And it charges the iPod.

Lynskey Steering wheels functions through UConnect work if you get the harness and steering wheel adaptor. PAC-USA harness and PAC-SWI module and everything is retained. Just need the right ones for your model year and HU brand.

That Clarion is a nice sounding HU I put one in my daughters Mustang for xmas gift. The leds have tons of colors to choose from. And I do agree the round nob in the center does go well with the JK vents.

You mean the dash kit? That's not the H/U manufacturer"s fault, it's the fact that very few vehicles are designed with regular sized decks so when you replace one with an aftermarket deck you need those dash kits to fit them. We have two, for the JK, one for double dins and one for single dins. They're needed. We have it easy, many of the new cars need major mods/dash kits/dash replacements to fit after market decks.

Still, it's fun! But I like playing with crap like this.

NWranglerS Any other pics of single DIN head units in a JK? Just trying to get some ideas of how my pioneer DEH 5100 will look.

Boneman Do all these heads work with the steering wheel controls? I am considering upgrading but I got the connectivity package and i want a head that works with all that stuff.

The bezel is from Metra. It houses the HU and has a cubby all in one piece. That entire bezel fits the space of the Double DIN size and uses the same 4 bolts that the DD bezel uses. It is specifically made for the Jeep. I don't have the model number but there is only one...

head units in general look awful. This has a large center knob that sort of mirrors the vents. $180 with built in Bluetooth who cares.
