hosejockey61 Go to -they have great quality speakers...a lot of DIY stuff. But most importantly, you can go on their tech talk forum and post your questions there and get feedback from audio experts that don't try to sell you anything. And the prices are phenomenal. Their Dayton line is really good for the money.

db521's are the most common choice for dash speakers in my experience. I offer db5251 components in a package deal -- speakers, tweeters, crossovers, speaker adapters, tweeter mounts, and polyfill.

dbxtr3 has great prices and buy some 5.25" adapter plates. I replaced my 4x6" plate Polk db's with 5.25" clarion 3 ways and it sud 10x's better. If you are running off the headunit's power I would buy a speaker 35 wrms or less.

FYI, To install the 5.25" speaker in the factory 4x6 spot does require you to cut a metal support bracket off the dash. It is best to use a dremel with a cut off wheel

Jerry Bransford X2 on the Polk DB series recommendation. That speaker doesn't take a lot of power to make sound good plus its cone is waterproof.

bigdumbfun Polk Audio (DB521 for the 5 1/4") makes a marine grade that sounds pretty good. I replaced my four factory speakers and got a Kenwood deck from Amazon for less than $300. I ditched the center console sub and got a MTX amplified tube to put in the back and it was about $140. Probably around $400 for everything. Sounds respectable even with the top down.
