The '12 is "too nice" to wheel in the IN clay/ mud mix IMO
And that is why I do not want a newer jeep...

Kill The Infidel I love to wheel it, but because it's my DD i am more aware of not effing myself out of a vehicle...

99black DD it everyday and wheel as much as I can. Dont like the mud too much, but I dont avoid it, unless its going to swallow my Jeep

MrTurtle Yes...and sad to say, never been offroading... only had the jeep for a few weeks now, and I don't know of any trails in my local area. Need to find a jeep club! Also, since just recently bought the jeep, have zero dollars for any type of mods...

JoeBot13 Yes and yes. However if I ever hit the lottery I'd dump so much into this that it wouldnt be street legal anymore and I'd have to get another Jeep just to have as a DD.

Big Bad Jeep sadly mine is a DD, hopefully not for long. Going to buy him a brother of course it will be another Jeep. The Jeep is invincible, so if I need to go down a dirt road or through mud I just put it in 4wd and give it hell!

TJS2000 Yup. DD and for off road. What else would I drive if I have a TJ? My wife's minivan, I think not. LOL

Wheel wisely and listen to wiser members.

cool spare tire

11-07-2012 02:41 PM
chilly Yes, and yes but only a little bit (such a PITA to clean I'm just as apt to tiptoe past a mud hole add i am to charge through it), sees plenty of use as a beach buggy and trail rider on weekends though.
11-07-2012 01:26 PM
nemo963 Yes and hard core wheeling but love to trail it, occasionally sand dunes, and the snow we get.
11-07-2012 12:43 PM
Runkmaster Yes and Yes! I am ready for some snow!!!!!!!

Jonny15 My 06 rubi is my dd, about 33,000 miles a year! It never gets abused off road (it is still my dd) but it see's plenty of light trail time, especially during hunting season. I take it on the trails on the weekend, then drive it to work on monday, cant do that with most vehicles!
11-07-2012 12:07 PM
kheiland Thats the beauty of it,in fact I think we all like to wait about a week after wheeling before cleaning of the dirt wearing it proudly around town like a badge of honor.Others can only look on with envy never being able to experience what you

just have, the sights you have seen and the people you met along the way.Only in a jeep
11-07-2012 11:49 AM
NikeHead DD here, need to find a 4x4 club to go wheel with when I graduate
11-07-2012 11:42 AM
sevenservices same here... DD plus trail toy. Don't mind mud, just better in the summertime when I can hang outside for 4 hours to clean everything really good!
11-07-2012 11:35 AM
Cons_Table Another DD here. I wheel some pretty difficult stuff and always manage to drive it home the same day. No mud for me...but show me some rocks and I'm all for it.

My Last trip...pretty mild. The offroad course towards the end had some difficult parts to it.

A local trail near me...only as tough as you want to make it.

Also, another local trail that is fairly difficult.

Fireaxe 2000 TJ Sport purchased a few months ago with 150k....
ABSOLUTELY My DD.....I miss it when I'm not driving it.
11-07-2012 11:24 AM
SkylineTj Just got my 00 TJ a little over a month ago and it's my DD.
I've taken it on trails twice, the first time it didn't get so muddy, but the second time it was covered.
I don't enjoy having to clean it. lol
11-07-2012 11:18 AM
DarthLEGO Yes and not yet.

I am just finishing upgrading tires and lift, so I have been paranoid about hitting the trails until the work was done. And still a little worried about going on to the trails w/o a winch...
11-07-2012 11:13 AM
Sheweezy I daily drive my Jeep and do not go looking for mud, mud just seems to find is my Xj after going to winch a buddy out
