cashcow1608 Sounds like fun, Ive been wanting get out and explore our local trails. I should know in the next couple of days if I will be going or not. Right now it looks like I will probably be going with you guys.
12-17-2012 08:49 PM
crittert There are a few offshoots from drinkwater that have some challenging climbs to em. Nothing hard by any means though. Still a good day to go out local and explore. The trail from bouquet to Rowher has a pretty good little section in the beginning of the trail as well.

Hope you make it. Aaron

cashcow1608 If I dont go to Cal City that weekend Ill join you guys. I know the Drinkwater to Bouquet trail pretty well. The hardest part of that trail is the climb at the begining then its pretty mellow after that. Thats really the only local trail Ive been on so Im looking forward to checking out some of the others. Mountainneer I will let you know if we will be in Cal City that weekend. It kinda sucks that the wife and I both have to work Monday so we would only be able to go out for the weekend.

crittert Lets do the 29th. We'll meet at the Drinkwater flats staging area. We'll take drinkwater over to bouquet canyon. That's where we will catch another trail up and over to Rowher flats.

Parts of this trail are black diamond but any stock rig will make it through no problem.

Sounds good! I was thinking 28/29 ish? Either day work better? We definitely need to get a local run going after the holidays. That sounds like a blast!

mountainneer We are also planning to be in Cal City from Fri Dec 28th - Jan 1st. Let us know if you guys go.

cashcow1608 I might be able to do something the weekend before newyears. We were supposed to go camping out to cal city but since the wife and I both have to work that Monday we might be staying home. And I agree that we should put together a local meet and greet after the holidays.

cashcow1608 Oh, I forgot to welcome Antefx to the forum. Welcome and you will find that there is a great group of jeepers on the forum with fun family oriented runs taking place and new jeepers are always welcome.

cashcow1608 Im not too far from you, Im near the end of Copperhill. I probably wont be able to get out till after the holidays either, but after that I can get out most weekends so we will have to get a local run together.

mountainneer I'm near Cooperhill and Seco. Sounds like we have a group ready to go. I won't be able to make it out until after the holidays.

Tanks I live in the San Fernando Valley and would love to spend some time between Christmas and New Years wheeling as much as possible! Let's get a run together! I've never been wheeling that direction anywhere but Gorman.

cashcow1608 Im near Bouquet Cyn and Vasquez Cyn. We will have to get together after the holidays and run some of the local trails.
12-15-2012 07:44 PM
crittert There is some good wheeling off of Bouquet Canyon. I live 5 minutes from Drinkwater so if you guys wanna go just PM me anytime.

cashcow1608 I have older kids but my 19 year old daughter is usually the one who goes on the wheelin trips with me. All of the WF events I have been on have been very family frieldly. I havnt had a chance to do alot of the trails in our local area. I have played around the Drinkwater flats area testing new mods but thats about it so I wanna go out and explore more of the trails. Just need to find the time and someone to go with.

mountainneer Sounds good. We actually just picked up our JKU a few weeks ago. Been out of wheeling for awhile. I used to have a 75 Bronco (early body style) which was all set up. Used to go with a group out of the Valley, the "Aftershocks". Aftershocks was a very family oriented group. Been reading a lot of the wrangler forum group trips. They seem pretty family friendly..

cashcow1608 It will probably be after the holidays for me too. I plan on doing the Calico run on Jan 12th that Yomondo is getting together. If you havnt been on any of the Wrangler Forum runs yet they are always alot of fun and a great group to wheel with.

And there's no break in period for the powertrain either. You just don't want to panic brake too hard until the pads seat evenly to the rotors.

I guess you could tool them around on 111, 112, & 113 to ease them in. Then a quick run through the burn area on Lockwood, and up Miller.

I'll be working every weekend for the next 5-6 weeks. Arrrrrrgh....
