|NC Bear||I'd offer to buy it, but otherwise it'd be in moth balls. I wouldn't just drive it....to much liability|

|UnlimitedRubicon||Liability issues aside, advise them to sell it (make an offer if you're interested). Who holds on to a run of the mill vehicle for 5-10 years without any prospect of the owner legally driving it? We aren't looking at a Shelby Cobra here.|

|TJ-Q8||I agree. Let them sell for really cheap. I personnally dont like to drive any vehicle thats not mine. Iam usually asked to drive a vehicle to check if its alright but not too use it.|

I don't even like to drive any of my family's vehicles across town. I wouldn't touch that.
I might see if they'd sell it cheap though.

thanks for the input all
lets start off with its not my daily driver i got an explorer to move the family around so it would be more of a toy.
their son wheeled the crap out of her so i got some cleaning and fixing to do.

|donaldbowling||Drive it like u stole it and have fun. ZOMBIES will take over before they want it back!|
|11-10-2012 09:32 PM|
|amiller||Although a nice rig, I would have to pass also. Just too much liability.|
|11-10-2012 09:21 PM|
|BLK00TJ||I would be too afraid to drive it much. Even if something happened that was not my fault, I'd feel bad about it. Maybe drive just enough to keep stuff running and burn off condensation in the motor and recharge the battery as a favor to them but not daily driving.|

Good luck with it and enjoy it
|11-10-2012 08:42 PM|
|jp2611||I hate to agree with the above posts...but yeah...and I know in Indiana it could get a little "screwy" if there was an accident and who is responsible who repairs what how is it titled insured.......might be ahead to see about "buying" it now with the plan to sell it back to them when there son can drive again for a set price....would than be careful of how attached you get to it 'cause you might loose it.....but IMO good possibility you COULD end up with it fairly cheaply.|

Never the less very nice looking jeep

|Jerry Bransford||Personally, and friends of the family or not, I wouldn't take on that responsibility. If anything happens to that Jeep while you have possession of it, like an engine, transmission, etc. type of problem, they'd blame you. Heck even just normal wear & tear at the end of that 5 years might be considered by them to be excessive. Trail damage, dents from hit & run drivers, vandalism, or if you got into an accident... there are a lot of potential hazzards that could cause your family friends to no longer be family friends if something very clear about such potential problems isn't put in writing before you take possession of it.|

|Randens Rubi||Congratz. Hope your able to purchase it after a while. Nice looking jeep.|

Man that's nice! Been a few years since I've seen one. I agree with Rubicon06Va...drive it a while then ask if you can buy it. Might get a good deal.
As for the Golden Eagle edition, here is what I found:
The main thing is the DANA 44 rear end. Golden Eagle package: a heavy-duty Dana 44 rear axle, 30-inch off-road tires, two-tone seats with Golden Eagle embroidery, an upgraded seven-speaker audio system, a silver center-stack bezel, gas-charged shocks, 15-inch gold-aluminum wheels, and Golden Eagle decals on the exterior, a standard 6-speed manual transmission or optional 4-speed automatic

|Rubicon06Va||Awesome! Drive it for a few years, then tell them u want to purchase.|

FREE golden eagle tj for 5 years
hey all!!!! ok so my parents have these friends who have a son in his late 30s. He got arrested 3 times for dunk driving here in NJ and he lost his license for 10 years. So they asked me if i would mind driving the jeep for the next few years instead of it sitting in storage costing them more $. it got dropped off to me today. pics to follow all i know is its a 2006 colden eagle sitting on 33s with 4-5 inches of lift.
My question is what options came with the golden eagle? Its in good shape its been off roaded but nothing crazy. looking foward to enjoying it.
now do i sell my 92 with cj from clip or do i park mine for a few years????
