Binner Well I replaced the battery today all seems good now.
Thanks for all the input.
This is what I went with. I hope it lasts as long as the original.

Unfortunately, I don't think they sell them in Canada.

TJS2000 Just replaced factory battery in a 2000 TJ. But I think this is more of an exception than a standard.

C.L. DieHard Platinum 3478/P4 all the way! It's expensive, but you'll only buy one for the next 10 years. I ran my winch on and off for an hour hauling a piece of equipment out of a basement on mine. Jeep was off and in gear to act as an anchor while i managed the rope/remote from outside. The thing didn't even HESITATE to turn over after we were done.

Binner The weather is starting to get cold here. I have notice when I worked late a few nights that it was a little sluggish to start. I guess my battery being 7 years plus has earned its keep.
My next question is what replacement of Cranking power battery do you all recommend?

Thanks again.

JDsDream My original battery only lasted 3 years. Started the Jeep up, drove it about 20 miles, parked it and 10 minutes, click, click. In other words, it happens without warning and usually at a most inopportune time.

scott howard If you still have the factory battery in your 05 you need to replace it.
5 years for a factory battery is about the life of one.

TJspeed 5 or so years.

Battery life

Today I backed my 2005 Rubicon out of the garage. I used one of those cheap air pumps to fill up the tires that connect to the battery plug.(cigarette lighter) After airing up the tires my jeep would not start. Just clicking.
I boosted it and it started no problem. I have always aired up my tires this way with no problems until today. The charging system seems good.
My question is how long should a battery last. I do not abuse mine and there are no other add-ons on the truck.
