Yes I did... for less than a week. Couldn't stand them so I sold them off to another forum member. A week later they called me and said "these tires suck...I almost slid into a car in front of me in the rain yesterday." My problem with them mostly was the noise. But I've heard from many people that rain/snow traction is scary.

Ive run km2's for just under 30,000 miles now and by my estimate i have around 30,000 more miles to go on them. I drive A LOT, about 150-200 miles a day average and i love my km2's.

I think they're much improved from the original km's. They're the quietest, best riding mt ive ever owned. Are they as quiet as a highway tire? No, of course not, but they're actually not much louder than most at tires ive owned.

During the past 30,000 miles ive seen plenty of rain obviously and never once would i have called then dangerous...they're just fine, perform like any other at or mt ive ever owned, no issues whatsoever.

I also see plenty of snow here in the northeast and i think they're great in snow. Would a studded snow tire work better in light snow? Of course, thats what snow tires are designed for...but if you drive like you should, keep your distance and speed down, km2's perform great for an mt. In deep snow they're fantastic.

All in all id recomend km2's to anyone, for me they work great as a dd tire that i drive 30,000 miles but need for challenging trails.

All of this said ive never run a duratrac, obviously people love them, but honestly i'll trade the quieter ride and siping on the duratracs for more traction and puncture resistance of the km2 any day of the week.

don't do the 16.5 rims. they are dying. interco is almost the last ones building them but demand is falling so they don't know how long they will continue building some sizes. then airing down and finding wheels is a pain.
go IROKS, don't last very long like the SX but they will absolutly put a big big smile on your face when wheeling. go 17" and you will be happy.

make this easy. KM's are a great tire but are in the same class as the goodyear MTR. the Duratrac is a "tweener" tire. not a mud terrian and not an alterrian. the rule is the bigger the tire the more open space or tread void is needed for proper contact pressure. so for most with a mild lift and used as a daily driver the duratrac is a no brainer. it will do everything very well. so so quite, low maintence and last. the KMs are in a different class called "mudders". they work bettern in off highway larger sizes with bigger lifts.

TJNewbie I really like My Duratracs, they do great for the off-roading that I do -sifty sand, mud, logging trails, & water crossings. and mine's daily driven, quiet and great on wet roads.

WXman KM2s are not "the classics". They've only been out a few years, and compared to the original KM they S U C K. They are loud as hell and dangerous in rain and snow. They are also priced too high.

The Duratrac is a great all around tire. It bites a lot harder than AT tires in the slippery stuff. But it's not a full out mud tire so it'll give you good wear, low noise, and it's siped well enough to be safe in foul weather. They are sometimes shaped like ovals instead of circles, in true Goodyear fashion, and take a lot of weight to balance if you can balance them at all. But otherwise they are a superior choice for a Jeep that sees mostly pavement use with weekend trail duty.

flatsfisher83 Had a set on KM2s on my last vehicle. Swore I'd never by another set. Wore way too fast with regular rotations. Then again, I could have had a set that was built on a Friday afternoon or Monday morning.

thewampus97tj I have 39.5's TSL's on my old chevy but I want 42" iroks or 43" sx next. Great tires.

banks316 Yea I'm thinking of going 39.5 13.50 16.5R Iroks or SX. Kevlars are good foe pavement and most wheeling just not what I like to do.

Wet/muddy rock are a whole diffrent beast all together. If rock crawling wasnt hard enough haha. I grew up wheeling the south east(East TN) and the tires to have are TSL's or Iroks. If you ever watch Madram11's youtube videos of the rock bouncers you will see that everyone is running cut TSL's or TSL sx's and thats the best for that terrain and thats where im from. I would imagine WA is alot like that but with more rocks and more rain so I totally get why you dont like them if they dont preform on wet rocks. I think Im still gonna get MTR kevlars for my jeep when I move to FL just for an all around good tire for my DD. I dont think the Duratracs will be good enough for my needs and im just not sure if the KM2's are the right tire for me.

ratassassin I thought about Duratracs (especially since Goodyear has a rebate on them right now) but I decided to go with Cooper STT 32x11.50R15's on MT Classic II's. They ride pretty quiet and are reported to have long life with regular rotations (40-60k miles).

banks316 Go with the DT over the KM2s for a daily driver. I have the MT/R's and I hate them with a passion mine have 3k miles on them and im looking to sell.

thewampus97tj Look into the Goodyear MTR-Kevlars too. It KM2's will wear out faster on the highway but will out preform the Duratracs off road but the DT are still good offroad.

Hey boy, im looking into tires for my DD and Im hearing lots of good stuff about dt's but a ton of people swear by the km2's. And apparently KM2's are the classics but duratracs are the "new kids on the block" HEEELLP!!!!
