If you plan on keeping the spare the life of the vehicle, you might want to cover it to offer some UV projection. Prevents dry rot.
If you replace the spare everytime you buy tires ( to have five matching tires) I wouldn't worry.

|stevens243||Better yet, try shopping for a 35" tire cover. By the time you get done paying for it, you could buy a new spare!|

|Dare2BSquare||Personal preference. As stated above, if you rotate tires it doesn't hurt anything to leave it uncovered. Unless you have it on an ugly @$$ wheel.|

|4Jeepn||Well if your getting one that says wranglerForum.com on it, then yes you should put it on right now. Other wise, I don't think its a gotta have it now kinda thing. Plus the few times I have owned them, they filled with rain water, ripped, got bugs in them, etc etc.|

|4point||I vote leave it be. I would be afraid of tearing one up while wheeling. I don't like them anyway, but thats just me.|

|jgano23||i never cover mine. i live in NJ and we usually experience all 4 seasons. it can be as hot a a hundred or so in the summer and as cold a zero in the winter. i have never covered mine and have not had any problems. plus, if you rotate you tires frequently they should be fine. just my opinion though.|

To cover or not to cover...
Had a senior adult Jeeper stop me in the parking lot the other day to discuss our Jeeps. One question he asked me during our hour conversation was, "When are you gonna cover that spare tire of yours?" I live in Texas it's hot dry and we have two days of winter annually. Should I cover the spare or leave it be? Just looking for some opinions.
