No problem, if you actually keep going through the website they have the ported intake manifold specifically for the jk and a ported throttle body, so I guess the one I posted wouldn't fit

I'm guessing it's fine, & probably made by AEM. It's an open element like aFe. I had a Mopar Performance CAI on my GC, & it worked fine.

aoquinn I have a 2011 Sahara and want a little more hp and improved mpg. I am considering the Airrade, but also considering a Superchip Flash Paq. Anyone have pros/cons of either?

SilverSport Seat of the pants can be extremely valuable in everyday real world performance.
A driver can often sense positive or negative operating conditions this way.
What seat of the pants doesn't do is provide a reliable measurement of horsepower/torque.

2five22 "Seat of the pants" means nothing. Absolutely nothing in real world performance.

Unless an independent testing facility installs one on a random JK/JKU and then runs it through the entire dyno testing protocol and is able to repeat the results, I don't believe the numbers. Too many manufacturers rely on 'bench racing' to sell their products.

kjb914 I had an AEM CAI years ago on a honda and was told at the time it was the best one money can buy. I just bought a 2013 rubicon and really thinking of getting an intake. I haven't seen anything from AEM though for that motor. Whats the consensus on the new Penstar?? Who makes the best one??

The 3.6 is most restricted at the top of its performance range anyhow...4.5-5k rpm and upwards. Moreover, it's not just the air intake that is restrictive. There are multiple threads on this. Irishbaja I went with a Airaid and I can say install was easy has the sound when you accelerate but mileage hasn't increased and to me it feels like everything else is the same. One thing I do like about the Airaid is the intake box is fully enclosed unless you submerge your hood which without a snorkel you'll have water issues even on a stock setup. Filter is definitely better. I'd say that it boils down to its your money and spend it how you choose.

Clemson Spent many hours researching the variety of CAIs out there and finally settled on one found that if the MOPAR puts their name on it, sells it and warranty it - you find that a good deal of R&D has gone into the product. I went with the MOPAR CAI for both my TJ and HEMI WK2. If you look at the R&D results provided by MOPAR Performance Parts Division you will find the TJ 4.0L achieved at 10bhp increase and the HEMI a 12bhp increase. The biggest advantage is the MPG - TJ is getting 18 in town (verses 14) and 22 (verses 18) on highway. HEMI 19 (verses 16) in town and 26 (verses 21) on highway. Definite difference out of the hole, throttle response is much smoother, no hesitations throughout the throttle range. The sound is great - but does attract our local police's attention....your choice folks...good luck and Merry Christmas!!

A few differences, being the Airaid reuses the oem air inlet elbow, which aloows it to be used w/any snorkle that accepts the oem air box. The Volant is the only CAI that is available w/the Donaldson PowerCore filter.

I had the same issue w/the IAT, it took finesse wiggling/twisting. IMO, you could use some detail spray on the grommet, but don't get it on the sensor part of the IAT.

banks intake assistance

I can't seem to get the sensor to flush mount on intake tube without the cheap rubber grommet popping through. Any ideas? Should I try and lube the grommet? much appreciated and will say the banks has a nice sound to it. Getting ready to install the Monster this eve.

Mopar2Ya I also just installed the Volant w/PowerCore, to early to give any review. It appears to be well made, tight fit (bigger air box than oem), & I'd like a twist-in IAT instead of the push-in grommet(that most CAI's have).
