|Trendsetter75||I just found out I can't use the 33x12.50R15 with my JKU because of the placard in my door jam doesn't meet the criteria|

Please excuse the 6-lug Razor photo we have pictured on our site. We do not take shots of every single bolt pattern.

|AGNP2013||Ok, last question about rims before ordering. Does MB razor 15X8 5-127 -19MTB clear 2013 JKU Sport S factory brakes (I know Sahara model is ok but just in case)? It seems that MB razor has 6 bolts but my OE rim has 5 bolts. MB Wheels Razor custom rims|

I'm definitely getting some rub somewhere at full lock on turns, I'll have to take a look and see where that's coming from - anyone else identify this? I'm running stock suspension with the 33x12.5x15s on a 2014 Sahara. Appreciate any insight.

|Espo78||Until a few weeks ago Discount Tire had no problems recommending or selling you a 33x12.5x15 Duratrac. They have now updated their policies and causing undue confusion for people. Buy them elsewhere if that is what you decide to run. They are great tires and I love them on my Jeep.|

|AGNP2013||I did some research… mine is 2013 JKU Sport S which GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating: maximum operating weight including passengers and cargo) is 5400 LB. According to a load index chart, one original tire (P255/75R17 113) can carry up to 2535 LB and 33x12.5x15 108 can do 2205 LB. I do not know this way is correct but I feel 33x12.5x15 is still safe for Sport S because each tire can maximally load 2205 LB. 2205 LB x 4 = 8820 LB which already exceeds the GVWR (5400 LB). What do you think? I have never heard anyone who runs 33x12.5x15 on their Sport S has any problems. Please, correct me if I am going to be dumb.|

I love discount tire, they've always been good to me and treated me right. At this point though I'm going to have to suggest using a different vendor, or just ordering the tires online without specifying what vehicle they are for. It kills me every time DT says you can't run a 33x15 Duratrac if your Jeep came with one tire instead of another. It's just bad information and not based on the real world. It's based on some lawyer trying to define what is "safe" across a broad spectrum of vehicles and tires and has little real world evaluation.
These are Discount Tire's misguided standards, and do not apply what other vendors feel is safe, or what is actually safe in the real world.

It sounds like this is what you have but I would recommend looking at the placard in your driver's door jam. It will tell you exactly what tire came on your jeep from the factory. There are trim levels that come with LT255/75R17C 111 load index tires and these models do meet our load index requirements to run the 33x12.50R15 108 Duratracs.
To avoid the confusion, if you have a local Discount Tire near you please stop in and we'll be happy to double check this for you. If not, give us a ring and we can make some recommendations over the phone. 1.888.459.4080.

It looks like there are some issues about load index…. I am considering tires between 315/75R16 Duratrac and 33x12.5R15 Duratrac for my 2013 JKU Sport S with 2" lift. I like MB razor for my wheel but there are a lot of wheels in the same size. Can you recommend proper combo and $?

|Espo78||When I had the stock goodyears I parked next to a TJ on 33x12.5x15 Duratracs and the height was identical.|
|08-15-2014 10:43 PM|
|TAG1||I know we had this before, and I checked my speed with an GPS, it's dead'on. What I did not think about is how low the 33" will be on the car with the load. I will put one SRA back on tomorrow morning just to see what the difference in height on the car is. I like to think that the 17" SRA is taller with a load on the tire. Just a thought......|
|08-15-2014 10:18 PM|
|Espo78||Its been mentioned before. the Duratrac specs out to the same height as the factory Wrangler SRA tire. It's just wider and has the illusion of being taller due to the smaller wheel size. It's nice because it won't mess with your gearing or speedometer.|

|TAG1||I measured my Duratec 33"x1250x15 height today on the car with 29 psi. The height is averaged out about 31.75". I made some pictures that I will post tomorrow. Is it wrong to do the measurement on the car with load on the tires? Also one point that looked funny is that the front that has the load of the engine is taller than the rear with out the load by an 1/8". When I measured the spare it's about 32.25".|

|Discount Tire||Thanks for the update TAG1 I'm sorry if there is still some confusion. I'm out of the office until Monday. I'll give you a ring Monday.|

So from what I know after speaking with the DTD Technical Expert, I been told that the only Jeep that is a problem is the Sport S that has the 255x75x17R- 113S OEM. It is not a problem that is related to the car weight but to the tire that has been installed OEM from the factory(makes no sinse at all, but it's DTD's policy). If the tolerance is taken off a 113 tire, the minimum drop down will be 109….so all 33”x1250x15 will be too low by 1 since they are all 108’s. Again that is the way their system works and not the norm calculated based on the weight of the car that is the same as a Base Sport Model! So after talking with the Technical Expert from DTD I been told that they like to have my tires back, and will work with me to put me in a different tire. I was told that a Customer Service Rep will give me a call to work with me to change the setup.
Now the hammer….. when the Rep called on Wednesday, he told me that he has been told that I like to upgrade my tire (what I didn’t) and I told him that I’m happy with what I have but been told that DTD wanted the tires back since it’s not to their standard. He told me that if I’m happy with the setup he don’t care if I run this tire. He also told me to send him all the mails that the Technical Expert has sent me since it looks like that there are some misunderstanding about the topic…..”No kitting”. I told him that most of the topics had been discussed on the phone. I just thought that I would share the information I have with the forum, since it looks like they have some internal problem. I called the Technical Expert today but he is on vacation, so I left a voice mail to call me next week. I will let you know if there is anything positive coming out from this.
Thanks TAG 1
