Lancem Loosen the front rollcage supports and the windshield bolts (the ones on the dash) and align the windshield to match the top. Hopefully your hinges aren't rusted into position.

racer-xerols If you have trouble fitting a top, and doors, to your jeep, chances are something up top is bent. Rollcage supports the top corners of the windshield; it could be bent or tweaked. You don't want to try and force a hardtop - it'll crack.

chezuki Make sure you removed all the soft top hardware including the belt rails and windshield channel.

The distance from the top lip of the windshield to the top outer edge of the body tub next to the tailgate must be 75 1/8" on both sides of the vehicle. Measure 4"-6" inside the doors. If its not, you can shim the windshield mounting brackets until it is. Since its a rebuild, some of the angles might be off.

bstoad2 Thanks for the tip, I'll try it tomorrow. I also bought a hard top this weekend and it doesn't seem to fit properly either. Any advice on getting it fitted right? My YJ has a rebuilt title but the soft top seemed to fit fine.

chezuki Loosen the hinges where they attach to the door and put the door where it needs to be then re tighten the hinges. There is a lot of room for adjustment. When I got my cj doors I though there was no way they would ever fir right, but they're perfect now.

New full doors won't fit Jeep

I recently purchased a set of full doors to go with my hardtop. The doors came off a CJ7 I believe and I am putting them on my 95 YJ. I took the old doors and placed the new ones on. On the drivers side there is a small gap between the door and the windshield. On the passenger there is not enough clearance between the door and the windshield. It sounds to me like the windshield is warped or crooked. Has anyone heard of this being a problem or does anyone have suggestions on fixing the problem.
