|gmb08||Good advice. I read somewhere that starting it up before bleeding (turning the wheel) runs the chance of creating cavitation / causing damage to the impeller. Think I'll do the wheel turn about 40 times or so before starting it up. Thanks guys.|

|Gary2||I started my Dodge once thinking I had " all " of the air out once . I ended up with an aerated power steeing fluid which is like a red fizz . You can't bleed a system using fizz so that stopped everything for about a half hour until it all went away then started the turning back and forth deal again . of course that was changing the whole system which lets more air in .you can start it if you want but it that back fired on me even though I thought I was done and I wasn't . Turn the wheel back and forth until the fluid stops going down for a while . The Dodge truck would take like 40 times or more to get it all out as their was a cooler involved there . slow is key to a good job. do not hold it against the stops while doing this procedure.|

|flattietj||we bleed it by starting for a few and letting the system "swallow" a few times before turning the wheels any direction......then continue with previous instructions.....upon finishing let your jeep idle with PS cap off and when fluid runs air bubble free you should be good|

|gmb08||Yes, found info on that. Jack up front end and turn wheels lock to lock a bunch of times to get air out before starting it up. Thanks.|

catch pan for the fluid. its pretty straight forward. unbolt with an open ended wrench on both ends ans swap it out.
dont forget to put the new o rings on (should come with a new line), rubbing a little power steering fluid on the o ring for lube would be a good idea too.

Power steering pressure line question
Searched, but couldn't find info on replacing the pressure line on TJ's. On YJ's, most said they had to remove the radiator to get to the steering box fitting. Looking at my 2004 TJ, it looks like I only need to remove the plastic piece that covers the anti-swaybar. Any tips / tricks I should know about? Start from the top or bottom to remove / install? Thanks for any help.
