Silverback3 From the intersection of hwy 11 and 178,go north on hwy 178 towards Rosman, NC. You will go about 6 or 8 miles till you come to a bridge with old style concrete railings.Take a left on the dirt road right after you cross the bridge. There will be a sign for the foothills hiking trail.Go 1/4 mile to parking area for map and area info.I would suggest taking the first right turn,4 miles in,for a beautiful loop.It comes back in to the main road later on in.I just rode through yesterday.Maybe we can get a group together and go up.Theres nothing hard, its just some mild dirt roads with some outstanding views.

Horse Pasture River

Just got back from ridin over 30 miles of dirt roads. Some sections are 4WD but mostly mild dirt roads. Perfect for just getting out and riding in the woods. This area is east of Lake Jocassee. Its only open certain times and will close again Jan. 15.
