|Water Dog||Reinstalled my OEM pitman arm and reset toe-in and adjusted the drag link to realign the steering wheel today. Test drove and all is good. I'm really not sure that there is any difference in the way it drives, but at least it doesn't drive any worse, and the pitman arm isn't as much of a rock snag as the dropped one was.|

|TexasT||We had two tj's in the family that we put lifts on and followed advice of the time...10 years ago... and put on dropped pitman arms. Last year we took them off and I was surprised at how much better they performed. Can't explain all the geometry, but can talk a bunch on experience.|

Pitman Arm Question
When I installed my 4" suspension lift last spring, It was suggested (by the manufacture, of course) that I might want to consider a dropped pitman arm. So, wanting to do it right, I purchased and installed it. I've also read that one of the things to strive for is to maintain the drag link and the track bar close to parallel, which the dropped pitman arm helps with.
Everyone here is critical of dropped pitman arms, and since I highly value the opinions of the people on this forum, I've dug out the original stock pitman arm and plan on reinstalling it. But before I do, I'd really appreciate some input on what makes the dropped one bad.
