Allstar Realtor Put some 6.5" speakers into your sound bar and this under your back seat and you'll be set. Sound Ordnance™ B-8PT 120-watt compact powered subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

Jeembro Yeah I mean my soundbar speakers definitely output more sound than my dash speakers but I don't mind since they sound better. Could you try turning down the gain on the soundbar channel or if there's a volume control on your amp? Not really sure

lindel True, I can adjust between the two. Right now they're at equal outputs.

but you're not running your front and rear speakers off the same amp output, so you can probably fade between them... i have a setup more like jeembro...

Thats what I did, but I feel like most of the sound comes from the pods vs the front and would like to balance that out .... anyone else have that?

Abnmarine Polk Audia 6.5's fit the soundbar without needing to be trimmed. Here is my install for reference.

lindel 6.5" Pioneer TS-1644R in the sound bar, 5.25" Cerwin Vega SS-502 in the dash (sorry Nalin, not your adapters), Kenwood KDC-248U head unit. Very good sound and the speakers are efficient enough that I don't have to turn up the volume to the point of distortion.

Future plans are a powered sub under the back seat, just enough to fill out the bass. A four-channel amp isn't completely out of the picture, I'm not certain yet.

NalinMFG Have you considered running components up front? 6.5"s will fit your 01 sounbar easily(03-06 sound pods need a little work).

Wattapunk Soundbars are 5.25" but can be trimmed to hold 6.5". My amp setup is similar to Jeembro's. Dash speakers powered by the radio, then a 4 channel amp to power the soundbar with the rear channels bridged for a 8" JBL sub behind the rear seat. Plenty loud.

BlueSteel99 It takes a little bit of work but you can fit a 12" subwoofer. The speakers on the overhead as far as I know are 6 1/2 but mine are not stock so don't quote me. I'm running a 4 channel kenwood amp and a 12" infinity dual tone. My old man and I built a box to fit in the trunk. You basically lose the trunk but if you value your music like I do, it's worth it!

hondamxer The factory roll-bar speakers are 5.25" however you can put 6.5" in their with little or no trimming to the plastic. Also a great upgrade is to get the nalin speaker adapters for your dash and put 5.25" speakers in their. The amp i got, but haven't wired up yet is the Kenwood KAC-8105D. Got it on sale for $110, Seemed to be the best i could find with out spending way more money, for what I needed it for. The sub it will be powering it a Pioneer TS-SW2501S4. This set up should give me good bass without taking up too much room.

Car audio

I am looking to upgrade the sound system in my '01 TJ. Already have an after market deck installed and am looking to install aftermarket speakers and possibly and amp with a sub. What size are the speakers in the roll bar? I've been getting different answers. Also looking at an amp but am curious as to what brand is the best for the best price. Any advice?
