Yep, as Imped advised don't sweat it when you can barely get any grease into that type of joint. It is just such a tight-tolerance joint that it barely takes any grease at all to have it properly lubed.
I use red Chrysler-type grease everwhere on my TJ as well as my Currie joints just because that's what I started with. Auto parts stores sell tubes spec'd for Chrysler, Ford, GM, etc. so for me it's just easiest to go with the Chrysler spec'd grease.
Know too that not all greases are compatible with each other which is another reason I just stick with the Chrysler stuff for all of my zerks... and at last count there were something like 31 of them.

Currie JJ's don't require frequent greasing. Don't worry about it.
But I've always used Green Grease with good results. If they don't take the grease, don't force it. The tight tolerances = the grease won't just flow through them. Instead, it could start to push the bushing halves out of the joint. Keep an eye on them and if you see them start to bulge out, quit trying. I don't bother greasing mine. Take them apart every 2-3 years and give them a good wipe down and fresh grease and reassemble. Repeat every 2-3 years.
