|Outlawmack||Theres no other electrical wires to hook up besides the one on the choke. (Do you possibly have that mixed up with a throttle body for fuel injection?) All my vacuum lines went to about the same spot I took them off from. And as far as the nutter by-pass. I swapped out my distributor for a HEI 1 wire hook up and got rid of the gray ignition box altogether|

My cj is the last year 88. Let me give more info because I have done much more in the install then you are mentioning. Thanks for the pic fyi! They help a bunch! I filled down some of the adapter plate so that it fit flat making a seal on the carb. The throttle hits one of the vacuum hoses and wont move the throttle when the throttle is applied. Which is what pics you showed me. I just got a different size adapter to fit. And the stock fuel adapter wouldn't just screw in the carb so I had to get that. I just took a look at it this weekend and got everything hooked up properly.
To sum up.
I have an electric choke on it so no wiring besides that? Why?
Also the vacuum hoses seem to just plug in. Correct?
And will this freak out the computer at first when I fire it up?
And did you do the nutter by pass?
My next step is firing it up.

|Denverdude2012||What year is your CJ? Im in a similar boat with my 87 YJ and having to deal with Colorado aircare bulls**t (actually just spent 2 months getting it back to stock). From what ive been told they *can* can you on a visual if the missions stuff that is suppose to be there from the year the vehicle is isnt there, depends on the station ive heard ft collins is one of the worst. Might be worth getting collectors plates if its old enough|

|Outlawmack||It was on the carb when I got it. But you can take the one off the carter and use it. All you have to do is take it apart and reverse the spring on the inside|

|Outlawmack||It is the easiest thing you can do. All the vacuum lines are pretty much in the same place The hardest thing for me was finding a 7/16 wrench to take off the old carb. Swap took about 10 minutes and it was back up and running. I bought my carb off eBay and had the downward pull throttle needed for the automatic. Don't let the electric choke scare ya. It's a EASY 1 wire hook up|

|jeepchix||I looked at it I might just run a manual choke. How about vacuum lines? Give me as much as you can about the whole swap helpful hints? things that were a pain in the ass?|

|Outlawmack||I just put a motorcraft 2150 on mine last weekend. Only wire it for an electric choke that you hook up to a keyed 12 volt source Mine starts and runs a heluva lot better now|

258 Carb swap
Hey I am in the process of doing the motorcraft swap on my cj7 258 inline. I hate the weber it stalls on the most simple inclines that make it sketchy when I stall(not to mention an manual). Here is what I have done so far...
-Have the motorcraft 1.08 with fresh rebuild.
-and some hardware from the home depot to make the fab throttle linkage.
So here is my question, electrically how to wire it correctly and next is colorado's smog laws, will the motorcraft pass?
Any additional info helps as well!
