mhanksii I had a 2012 and traded it on my 2013 Dozer, make sure you pay the extra $50-80 to get the 3.73 gears. my 2012 had the 3.21's and it all went to crap (power/mpg wise) when I upped the tire size. With a Banks CAI I was averaging 25.2mpg in my 2012 stock tires/3.21 gears. Then 21mpg in my 2013 with Banks CAI and 3.73 gears

Always willing to add my $.02, even on dead topics

appleman46 And maybe stick to threads less than 6 months old, not 16.

You rose this thread from the dead! The OP asked that question 487 days ago.

Welcome, BTW.

panthermark This thread was 16 months old you know.... In August of 2011, it was a legit question being that the 3.6's were just hitting the market in the Wranglers. But in December of 2012? Well....

But still...welcome to the forum! (Why so long for your first post?)

Manual Transmission

Just purchased a 2012 Wrangler sport with manual transmission.
Have driven nothing but manuals and can say this is the best. its
feathery light almost no effort to shift. Previously drove a old 4 cylinder
wrangler and noted a much heavier feel. Probably get an extra 2 mpg at
best but that does add up. Start in second gear with no problem. First is
for crawling and of no use for highway start. To me it is fund to drive,
gives me more control and is effortless. Very light throw into different
gears. Might mention cheaper to fix or rebuild , not as complex, better
millage, will not give out at once, and doesn't need to maintain the
continuity of transmission fluid, but that's all the obvious. The fact that i
enjoy it more is really the number one reason.

Anybody buying or bought 2012 with MANUAL TRANSMISSION YET?

I owned 1990 wrangler , 2000 wranger and 2011 wrangler with man transm

Anybody have the 2012 wrangler yet with manual transmission or order one yet.

I really want to see if there is a difference in power and mpgs.

Going to test drive one if they ever come into dealerships in NYC
