need some help

hey ya'll, been a while since i have been on here. Would anyone know where i can find a decent 4.0 around butler/Sedgewick county. i live in Douglass and work in ElDorado. I'm looking for one that runs and doesn't have the any serious noise when running. My tj started knocking on me. In February I installed new lifters and valve springs.

Story goes I just went and pulled a friend out of a ditch and then I proceeded up the mile long road in low range. Then drove another 2 miles to his house. Everything was fine. We sat there and bs'ed for a little then I headed back home. Got 2 miles down the road and stopped at a stop sign and I could hear her knocking. I went ahead and babied it home (about 25 miles too far) knocking the whole way. I honestly cannot tell if it is valve train, sounds about the same as when I lost a lifter the first time but it doesn't have the miss.

Today I pulled the valve cover off to check everything out. Everything was tight. i pulled all of my rocker arms off one at a time and checked the valve spring retainer and rocker arms. It all looked good to me. All of the pushrods are straight to the eye and the roll test on a piece of glass.

any ideas? Winter is upon us and I don't want to get stuck driving the mustang in the ice/snow.
