|Irongrave||thats fine to do it one a budget but spend a little time building something that might actually work on the trails. I would personally trash the stock shackle mounts, french the frame mounts and run XJ leaf springs to get some much needed added wheel base|

Worked on my frame last weekend. Went from this.
And had this left over.
A few more minor things to clean up and paint it and reassemble.

Carried the tub and frame to my shop over the long weekend last week. This weekend will try to get started on getting the tub off the frame and putting some springs back under it.
I made a little progress this afternoon. Started with this.
You just gotta love having a forklift.
Got down to this.
Got it in the shop and started putting some stock springs in it to get measurements for when the axles go under it. Next on the motor install.

|06blackmax||I will keep the 203 for a hopeful doubler upgrade in the future, but am looking for a 205 with a fixed rear yoke. If I can't find one by the time I get it done I'll use the 203.|

Well I took big red to my shop this weekend and pulled the engine and trans/t-case. This week I'll pull the axles and start cleaning things up and replace gasket as needed. Maybe over the long weekend coming up I can get something done.

Drove the donor truck around yesterday for a couple hours. It holds 45psi oil pressure at 180* and runs great. I think it's going to be a great setup. Now to get it in the Jeep and on a trail.
PS, anybody want to buy a 79 Chevy truck body?

It'll be a little work. But it'll be fun.
Motor runs great and trans and T-case work fine. So mounts and wiring to get going and take all apart for cleaning and paint. Hoping to have the bulk of it done around New Years. MSJ is having a New Years ride at Superlift, so well see.

95 YJ on Tons
The time is here. My project of choice is a 95 YJ that has been stripped of its drivetrain. So I have a clean slate so to speak. Over the last month or so the project changed somewhat but here is where I stand.
14 bolt rear
Corp 10 bolt (8 lug to match) up front
What I'm starting with.
The donor truck I found for the drivetrain is a 79 Chevy K30. It's got a mildly built 350 on it with the 400/203 and axles. As it sits now.
Unloaded it and it it running. Had to adjust the valves cause it sounded like a typewriter. Then after fixing a hose on the modulator valve the trans shifts smooth and crisp. I think it will all work out.
Over the next couple weeks ill be pulling the motor and drivetrain and replacing any gaskets and misc. items for preventative maintance. And then start with the fabing and wiring of the beast. I will try to find a D60 front when I get closer to being done but for now the 10 bolt will work for mock up.
