sierchio Post up some more pine barrens pictures. Anybody ever go to the Forked River Mountain? That's by where I live... my old house is actually by the road to one of the entrances...

Drpinkydo It can vary. All of these were in the Barrens. It had rained for 3 days though.

WatchUr6 Sorry, i meant LT245 75R 16, not 17s.

TGJ01 Terrain is generally just sand with some puddles/ mud holes. Some of the holes can be rutted out and deep so check before diving right in. For the most part it's all manageable with a stock jeep. If you can't go through it, there's usually a way around.

WatchUr6 My 98 is stock too, however the tires are upgraded to LT 245 17s which make a BIG difference. My buddy had a sport TJ with standard tires and to say the least it wasn't pretty on the trails. But it all depends on where you ride in the Barrens. I personally love it there. Last time we went were under the power lines somewhere near the pines, but sorry I have no idea what road it was off. I am not around from the area. This Thursday I might head out there with a friend and I'll have to check out 206 in Shamong, NJ. Thanks

RiverTerp07 What is the terrain like if say I wanted to be adventurous. For the time being my jeep is still stock.

TGJ01 The pine barrens are rather vast, but one of the more popular trailheads are located off of route 206 in Shamong, NJ. Next to Atsion Lake. Depending how adventurous you're feeling, you can go for miles.

First of all Merry Christmas! Unfortnately I'm not going to be able to make it up that day, but I am looking for some more places to go Off Roading as there aren't too many in Central Maryland. Mind shedding some more details on this trail? Where the Trail head is, best way to get there, etc.

Thanks,

Hi all,

I'm headed out to the NJ Pine Barrens on Xmas Day and was wondering if anyone else doing the same? Should be in the area around 11:00AM.
