AzTJ There is nothing about ownership here... it's more of an alliance between the two.. Chrysler gets in Fiats technology and other markets around the world... Fiat gets an easy way into the US market.

1BLKJP Hell this really is only a way to pump some liquidity into Chrysler. I haven't read any of it, but with 100% ownership being held by Cerberus there won't even be any voting rights gained by Fiat. Hopefully they might be able to share some of the better technology, but you have to admit some of the better passenger cars on the market today are from Chysler/Dodge.

AzTJ There REALLY needs to be a new auto revolution in the US. Most people who glance at any of the European cars (aside from BWM and Merc-Benz) don't like them, mainly for the looks... but I love them, Kool-Aid induced or not.

AzTJ But you forgot to mention that Fiat is the owner of such companies as Ferrari, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo.

Fiat is more or less the "Saturn" of the entire company.

I really think it's going to take some time for the American people to change their views on vehicles as fashion accessories instead of tools. Probably 90% of the vehicles in Europe are purpose built as commuters or transporters. Of course they may not look all that inciting, but a change is needed in a very bad way around here.
