YJ Clutch Issues

I have a 1991 YJ and it's having some clutch issues. A few weeks ago I dropped it off at a mechanic because the clutch pedal was engaging and disengaging very close to the firewall... too close. The worst it ever got was getting stuck in 2nd gear, which I had to pull over on my way to a shop. They replaced the clutch assembly and gave it back and two weeks later, it's doing the same exact thing, minus getting stuck in gears. In addition, when shifting DOWN from 3rd to 2nd gear, it makes a quick grinding noise as it's going into 2nd, but still goes in. I already took it back and they said it was fine, and after driving it for 10 minutes the clutch already seemed very loose. It sounds to me like a bad slave, which I just reinstalled. Any help on anything?

Thanks Guys
