FireFly LED Lights for Fog Lights II

The comparison photos I have seen online, just don't do them justice. Far more significant in-person!

FireFly LED Lights for Fog Lights

Wrangler 1771, I read your post and purchased the Firefly LED lights. They are SIGNIFICANTLY brighter that the OEM bulbs. I think they are certainly worth the money. Thanks for the tip.

Do they project light? I read a lot of threads on here that say much brighter put don't throw much light.

xxxxxxxxxxxtklein42 Great thread guys. I'm going to be putting a set of 55w 3000k HIDS in these. Lots of fog in Northern MN

the footwell lights are already hard wire LEDS. same with the map lights in the mirror. they aren't something you could just pull & replace lamps.

the 2014 footwell lights are pathetic. I will have to find some other LED option for there.

Can you take a picture of this. I'm being told they can be changed but it's not a reliable source. I would just like to confirm before ordering LED's

Iron Clad Lou ugh...ok...thanks!

ok..thanks...but I'm confused, my JKU has 2 map lights in the rearview mirror and 2 dome lights...after reading what comes in the kit, it doesnt appear to cover everything

Argent if you opt for the license plate bulb too on the JKU

This kit will come with:

2x Overhead LED MAP Lights (CANBUS)
1x Mid Cabin LED Dome Light (CANBUS)
1x Rear License Plate LED Light (CANBUS)
Total 4 LED Bulbs
so no to the footwells which are soldered on and not really 'replaceable'

I honestly can't tell if they are any different. I guess I should have used the fogs more before I installed them.

on a side note, the $20 interior LED lamps I got from the same store are AWESOME. Way brighter.

I just purchased these and they suck. They DO need to be modded to fit. All of the tabs are in the wrong places. That being said, I trimmed them with my Drexel and got them to work. They are extremely bright white but don't put off much light at all. It pretty much makes the fogs into DRL's only.... I will eventually have to go with JW SPEAKERS ..... I would save my money on these... Hell I'll sell you mine.

Weird. I went to this and their part search tool said they didn't have one compatible for 2013 WU?

You can use a h16 bulb, but you have to cut off several tabs on the new bulb's plastic housing to get it to work.

Or, you can do what I'm doing and swap out the factory fogs with a glass H3 replacement housing, then use any H3 bulb of your choice. Details here:
Upgrade stock fog lights with Pilot PL360C

If you choose to stick with the stock plastic housing and use H16 bulbs, be careful not to go any/much higher than 24 watts. Otherwise, you might end up melting the plastic!

paleh0rse You could also try these drop-in Yellow LED H16 replacements if you prefer LEDs:
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...685&cmd=VIDESC

Writeup here:
http://www.jk-forum.com/jk-write-ups...d-pics-180553/

Warnings:
1. ignore the part about cutting the housing
2. These don't put out much light in Yellow, and the white ones are more like Floods than Fogs...
12-20-2012 12:32 AM
paleh0rse Here are some H16 yellow 24watt drop-ins that would work if you shave the tiny tab off the side:
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...w=130685323900

Or, you can go the H3 glass replacement housing route, like me.
