|rgroesbeck1||I have the Tuffy security enclosure. I like it a lot, but it does rattle some, especially when temperature changes. Just tighten the fasteners and that takes care of it. Tools go in bags for easy handling. Of course, I don't use the rear seat. There are some Tuffy storage boxes that go behind and under the bench seat, as well. Their stuff is good quality.|

|deschte||We use a tool box from tractor supply. I believe it is 48 inches wide. It is just a chest that we mount to the inner fender wells during hunting season to use as a lock box for guns and other stuff. I have put one in a cj, yj, and tj. Its not perfect in terms of it sits high on the fenders and makes it so the top does not open all the way. You can cut the bottom out and make it the same shape as a lip box for a pickup, however then you can't fit a long rifle/shotgun in because they have to fit diaganoly. But we still fit most guns. Remove the handles to prevent rattling, and put a sleeping bag in the bottom. Remove when season goes out.|

|wolf19r||I was having this problem with my lj. I went on craigslist and found a medium/ large pelican case from a guy who just got back from Afghanastan. I unbolted my rear center seat belt and got a piece of roofing angle steel with predrilled holes and mounted it in the seat belt hole and screwed it back in. Then I drilled a hole in the pelican case and attached it with a large bolt and wing nut on the inside in case I want to remove it. Slap a square trailer lock on it and your good to go.|

go to your local welding shop and ask them to fabricate a custom box for you out of your choice of metals ...aluminum , stainless, plate steel..........
and that way it will fit just like you want and you will also be supporting your local people and trust me getting to know a fab shop can come in handy.

The only problem with mounting stuff to the tailgate is when your Jeep is full of stuff for wheeling, you can't close the door and you have to try move everything forward.
Don't ask me how I know.

|lys327||i currently have 30 cal ammo cans on the front fenders for storage and over the xmas break i am going to mount an ammo can to the tailgate. its actually simple. step one is to drill the holes in the appropriate locations. step two is too use blind rivets and intall the blind rivets. last i will drill corresponding holes in the ammo can and then use 5/16's bolts to mount to tailgate.|

Along this thread, I am looking at just putting a .50 Caliber "Fat Boy" ammo can in the back. I have an LJ, so I have a little more room to play
Anyone have a any mounting suggestions? Or just bolt it directly to the body? (After I cover it bedliner)

You are not totally clear on where you are looking to put this.
Are you removing the rear seat or is it staying in?
If the the rear seat is comming out, is it permanently?

|Rolly32||I have a craftsman 3 drawer type toolbox in my jeep. It's small enough to fit sockets, wrenches, hammers, pry bars, etc but it is really noisey when tools rattle around since I haven't put padding in the box yet.|

|PDXJeeper||I put my stuff in bags. Access to the rear with a soft top sucks. When I need a tool or part I grab the appropriate bag. This avenue doesn't help with security, but I seldom leave my car unattended while loaded.|
