|snwchris||I'm thinking it's your Ball Joints or Unit Bearing (Hub Assembly), especially if your saying its that knuckle.|

|1BLKJP||Have you tried jacking up the front end and trying to wiggle the tire from top to bottom? What you are telling us says either Ball Joints or Unit Bearing to me. There is a seal in the diff, but that wouldn't have any effect on what you are seeing. Plus if your not getting gear lube leaking out of the axle tube then there's nothing wrong with the seal.|

knuckle wobbling due to play in front axle shaft
Whats up guys!
I posted yesterday on my front drivetrain problems and got a lot of good responses. Thank you all. I got further into my jeep and found that the knuckle to the passenger side front wheel had a lot of play. So, I got behind there a found the axle shaft had over 1/2" of play and was damn near resting on the bottom of the axle housing. That cant be good! I would assume there should be a bearing in the housing or around the axle shaft that would eliminate this excessive amount of wiggle room. Also, could this be affecting the ring and pinion or gearing in the transfer case due to the shaft moving so freely in the housing. Thanks in advance to all who respond.
