LVRaptor Burro wash is a great local day trip 16 miles in and 16 miles out plenty of time for a nice lunch on the river in winter. Summer the trail gets crowded but plenty of space to let others by.
yah I have been to burros wash once before, was a great run. Looking forward to doing it again.

I don't know for sure which way is the "real" trail around the lake, but last Spring we were able to go north past the lakebed on the east side, turned east and came out on 93. It's kind of hard to tell to where the "Road Closed" signs refer, but it'd probably be best to not try this on this organized ride so as to not give the club a bad name or anything. Just file this info away for future reference.
I've gotten the impression that it's not always closed to go past the lakebed. North of Cabin Springs Rd intersection was where the sand was hairiest anyway.

Cabin Springs Rd scenery looked intriguing, so I'd be interested in extending our range to see if there's anything to the "Springs", if that's not too out of control for this tightly organized trip.
thx for the info, I love doing runs I have never been on so I am hoping I am in town for this one.

jokerchief462 It was a great day for little wheeling. Good trail and lunch on the Colorado River. The last 1/4 mile has a littl bit of challenge to it and was a fun drive. Here are a few pics and one is the suprise we found in the back of an 08 aux batteries what a surprise.

LVRaptor Wish I could go but only day I can get with the wife and finish our xmas shopping.

jokerchief462 Found the route so no issues. 4 hr round trip on the trail but it is 1 hour to Boulder City etc so if anyone is going 9 AM at Railroad Pass Casino and head out promptly. Gas up on the way so we don't have to stop on the way. Trail is 32 miles round trip.

jokerchief462 Saturday 22 Dec is what I had in mind. I find Coyote Wash is a weather station somewhere and Borrego is in CA. Not really local.

Still got to see how to get to Black Canyon and Burro Wash. The club met at the Railroad Pass Casino and headed out from there.
