About a 7 mile trail that is leaf covered, slippery and muddy from recent northeast rains and very washed out rocks on the steeper climbs. This trails had not be traveled recently. I had never been all the way on this trail but at both ends on my dirt bike and after a bit I was wondering if I missed the turn (forgot my GPS) at the last junction. I started thinking I would have to turn around and go back. Finally, I got a spot I had been on before and was extremely please with my TJ's (and mine) ability to handle this trail. Just as I cleared the trail head, my wife texts me and asks where I am. I replied, 'on my test drive and its covered in mud' got a 'LOL' back and 'when am I coming home'. Typical. And so, it has started. My new addiction to my TJ. Its about time.
Awesome. Hope u enjoy it.

4ofus These pictures pretty much sum up what I did today. Unfortunately I also uncovered some more headaches while I was under there. It appears a previous owner tried to "patch" the frame rails near the rear crossmember. Sadly the job was done poorly and after some wire wheeling I uncovered some rot. Looks like I'll be ordering some ART frame repair sections at some point.

But, on the brighter side of things, the new skid went in easily and I now have some peace of mind.

The Real Tink new rear brakes and installed my electric fan. raised the radiator back to where it belongs (has 3" bl, soon to be 1.25") and tidied up some wiring.
on a side note swapping all of your old goodies from a wrecked jeep to a new (same year..97) jeep is both sad and exciting.

My new to me TJ finally here

Holton345 I did nothing to my TJ today, but I did some stuff *for* it.

First, I put up for sale on our local CraigsList all my old suspension take-offs from the TJ and JK after cleaning and photographing them.

Then I ordered six new knuckle-to-unit bearing bolts (12 point, 13mm, you know the ones) and new hardware for the rear track bar.

Ended up cutting the bracket with a body saw to get the tank and skid out. Will battle the bolt tomorrow.

Ryan Angela Drove it on the trails for the first time since locking the front end and limited slip in the rear. First time driving anything with a locker. WOW! Between that and the regear, she really woke up.
