|Cheg||Take the kbb.com value for it and subtract $2000 (in case the motor is toast). That's what I'd offer for this jeep at most. Plus you haven't been able to drive it. How do u know tranny and driveline are OK? Its a risky purchase so protect yourself. Maybe it just needs a ring job...but maybe not.|

thinking of buying, NEED ADVICE ASAP
I'm looking at a 1995 Wrangler that is great cosmetically, but needs some mechanical work. The body is in great shape, bikini top, and the interior looks nice. Might need a new head unit for the radio but I think that's a cheap fix.
The owner said gas sat in the tank for 5 years while the wrangler was not in use. The tank has been cleaned and fuel pump replaced. The car sputters, coughs, and puts out some black smoke and the owner said it needs a ring job (he has had it estimated at $400-$500).
I'm concerned that the block or heads may be cracked. What kind of problems go along with these symptoms? Worst case scenario, how much money might I need to put into the wrangler to make it a reliable everyday driver? How much might you spend on a car like this?
Any advice is more than appreciated! Hopefully I can land my first Jeep!
