That's awesome! Sounds like Scoot got lucky too.

We bought our house in April of 2013. The first weekend we were there my wife and I were out front working in the yard. Our boxer Sadie was 4 months old and we had her on a tie-out in the yard with us. This strange dog came running up to us. Naturally we were scared at first that he was going to attack our pup but he just flopped in the grass and let her attack him. He came to each of us and allowed us to pet him and we both realized that he was covered in ticks and very malnourished. So we got him some puppy food and a bowl of water. Then he very patiently allowed us to pull all of the ticks off of him and we eventually brought him into the house and gave him a bath. He spent the weekend with us. Monday morning I had to put him outside when I left for work because we didn't know if he belonged to someone in the neighborhood or what. Plus I didn't want to leave him loose in our house full of brand new furniture. He'd marked on the couch once already during the weekend. So I left him sitting on our front porch.
Of course he wasn't there when I got home. I spent the next 3 months constantly looking for him. I called 3 local shelters every week and emailed them pics of him asking that they call me if he showed up.
Turns out that one of the neighbors down the street had taken him in or rather stole him from a house 2 doors down from ours where he was chained to the fence in the backyard being kicked and having cigarettes put out on him feet! We told the people that had him if they ever decided that they didn't want him to bring him to us.
On Wednesday June 12th, 2013 our doorbell rang at about 10:30pm. They just couldn't deal with him and their older dog not getting along and he was chewing things up in their house so they wanted to see if we'd take him.

He's been an amazing companion to our exuberant Boxer and the rest of our family since the day we brought him into our home to stay.
Wow, what a story he has. Glad he's got a good home now!

So, this picture I took of Buddy last night looking like he was in heaven just makes me smile.

Here's him eating that first meal.

Not too long after he came to stay forever.

Awww, man this makes miss my old girl so badly! You're goldens are gorgeous! They are such an awesome breed. I love my shepherds, don't get me wrong, but there's just something about goldens. I want another golden so badly.

This was my girl, Peaches.

Mochi is adorable! I'd take her home in a flash if it wouldn't make your daughter cry .

Is the sweet doglet a Bichon Frise', Poodle, or something else?

Haha! Yeah, I know they are super rare in our area here in FL. I knew about them for many years, but the first time I saw the breed in person was just 4yrs ago. I always loved how big and intimidating they look, but what a bunch of silly dogs. They had such fun personalities. Good working drives too!

He likes to ride in whatever. This is in my truck. He gets so peaceful looking.

This was the first night that Buddy came to live with us. It's a video.

Zwack-n-Irish My 30 y/o daughter loves pigs. We had a pot-bellied pig for several months when she was growing up. Some guy was getting ready to kill it because his landlord wouldn't let him keep it, so we took it home. A full grown, 100+ pound female pig in the back seat of a Chevy Citation! LOL! Thing was a royal PitA from day one. Dug under our fence (in a small town neighborhood) and headed straight for our neighbor's garbage cans. 3 or 4 times later and a couple of visits from the animal control officer, and it became obvious that we couldn't keep that thing in to save our lives--or hers. So we found her a home in the country. I must say I was never so glad to have a creature leave our home as I was when she left. She caused more trouble for us than 10 dogs and 15 large parrots, combined :-).

Thank you! Storm's one of our GSDs, she's a west german working line GSD.

She's extremely out of coat right now. She's usually a lot darker:

I had a BC who looked VERY much like your Lily. Her name was Hope. She was an amazing dog, and the love of my life. So looking at Lily kind of hurts my heart, while at the same time making me smile .
