I would go with 4.11 gears if your planning on sticking with 33'' forever but if you plan on going to 35's by chance definitely go with 4.56 gears. i'm running 4.56 and i have lots and lots of torque. Now Im running trails in 2wd that required 4wd to get through before. Of course I backed it up with a locker also which makes a difference.

Hums99 Sorry phone died. I ran 3.07 gears with my 33's with 3 sp auto trans. When I installed my 36's I installed 4.56 gears with detroit in the front and rear axle. I was satisfied with the factory gears when offroading but i did run in 4lo when the obstacles got technical. But I ran with the guys that had 10'' susp. and lockers so it was technical quite a bit. I didnt run a drop bracket and I had no vibrations. 1'' coil spacer was only installed in the front.

And the quick question for the 4'' RC susp the ANSWER is YES. My friend owns a RC dealership and we have installed many 4'' lifts and they require a longer pitman arm. It moves your steering back to factory height = no bump steer. Hope this helps I'm not an expert.

alimustelier Hi just a quick question I recently got a rough country 4" n2 suspension lift kit , do I need to get a larger pitman arm ?

valentine1210 So if I had the chance to regear what gear ratio should I use?

Mypantera You wont need to use relocation brackets if you go with a 1-1/4 BL and a 1"mml as everything will be back inline. You will have to temporarily disconnect the shroud until you complete both.

I have a 98, 5-speed with 33" and 3.73 gears and do "okay" on the highway. I can use 5th but anytime I hit a big hill I do have to down shift to 4th and sometimes 3rd depending on the hill. No problems getting up to speed or even hitting 75 mph on the highway. Gas mileage sucks though... I drive 50 miles to work and back and use just about a 1/4 tank....

valentine1210 Did you have to regear with 33s?

If you are running 33s with the body lift and the spacers did you have to install a t case drop bracket?

valentine1210 So I need to get new brackets for the fan shroud?
12-30-2012 11:30 AM
Hums99 The four bolts on the fan shroud. Forgot that part.
12-30-2012 11:30 AM
Hums99 You just have to unbolt the 4 bolts and install the brackets. Which is easier than installing MML

valentine1210 I think 33 is the biggest Ill go. But if I don't install the MML with the BL then don't I have to make modifications to the radiator and fan shroud

Hums99 Are you planning on going bigger with the lift at a later time, if so 1'' MML is ok. But if your planning on staying with just this size of lift your wasting your money. I ran 33x10.50 tires with 1.25'' BL and 1'' coil spacer in the front with no rub using stock rims.

I then added a 3'' lift and 33'' and went to 36'' with a total of 4.5'' of lift. I fabricating my front fenders and rear flares to keep from rubbing when flexing.

valentine1210 I was thinking of getting cragar soft 8's (15x8) and dune grappler 31's but do you think the 31's would look too small? Again I'm working with a bone stock 03 TJ with 2.4 and a 5 speed. Thank you in advance.

Lift Questions

I am interested in installing a 1" MML, a 2" BB and a 1.25" BL.

1. Do you think that there is good chemistry here with this combination?

2. What would be the biggest tire size I could put underneath it ?

I have an 03 TJ none stock at the moment.

Thank you guys
