4xMike This thread answered some of my questions! I've been wondering what the proper combo is for a body lift with a TC drop and/or MML

Catnip 0_o Thank you all for your replies, if I have to do a transfer case linkage adjust, is it easy to do?

Mypantera As ggross said, the body lift wont change drive line vibrations.

I have a 98 thats running 33's along with a zone 3" suspension along with a 1-1/4 body lift. The body lift included a 1" mml and transfer case linkage relocation bracket. I have had zero vibrations on the highway even up to 80 mph.

You could always do the BL and not the mml if your not getting vibrations now but you will need a transfer linkage relocation bracket and have to modify your fan shroud to do that or you can remove the transfer case drop and add in the mml with the body lift

Good luck

Missoulatj A 1.25 bl without a mml will require moving the fan shroud and adjusting your transfer case linkage. With a mml you won't have to mess with the fan shroud and might not have to adjust linkage (mine did but every jeep is different) So if your going to do a mml and bl do them at the same time to avoid undoing/redoing modifications.

A mml will improve driveline angles which should reduce vibs so you might be able to get rid of the tc drop or at least reduce its size, i say might because again every jeep is different so it depends

A bl alone will not create any vibrations

ggross the body lift wont change a thing for the vibrations, it just lifts the body

Installing 1.25" BL on top of 2.5" Suspension Questions

02 TJ Sport

About 5 months ago I installed a Rough Country 2.5" suspension lift on my TJ. I also put a .75" coil spacer in the front to accommodate for my bumper/winch in the front. I also lowered the Transfer Case skid plate about .75" with some grade 8 washers to fix the drive line vibration although it was not severe. I decided that this upcoming summer I want to put a 1.25" body lift on it along as a 1" mml, but I have a few questions/concerns before I go ahead and do this.

First, when I install the body lift by itself at first (without the 1" mml) will it worsen the driveline vibrations if I were to drive it without the 1" mml or does this only happen when you do a suspension lift? (I plan to do the 1" mml regardless, I am just curious if driveline vibrations only occur from suspension lifts)

Second, with the 1" mml installed (keep in mind with the 1.25" BL and 2.5" Suspension Lift), will it correct the driveline issue from the 2.5" suspension lift, allowing me to remove the washers I used as a skid drop, or will I have to add even more washers to accommodate for vibrations?

Lastly, I do realize that a SYE is the best solution to fixing a driveline issue, but this TJ is my daily driver/weekend warrior you could say and funds are tight. I am just looking for a way to get a little more lift/clearance without having to do a SYE.

Thank you
