slf41002 If you jumped the solenoid posts on the starter and it stated then it is either the solenoid or something from the switch to the starter. When it does it again have someone turn the switch to the start position and with the test light or multi meter test the small wire going to the starter and see if it becomes hot with the key in the start only position. If it is not hot at that point then it is more than likely the key switch or the wire coming from it.I am not sure if it has a fuseable link or not but if so I would check that first.

snwchris ok got home today and went to leave & no start again....

Its a manual, so check for fuse 20 in the glove box and does not have one, so then tried the following:

key in on position, in neutral and then jumped the start from underneath....
it finally started, but not sure what that means if thats a bad starter or bad solenoid

slf41002 I am going to go out on a limb here and say no!Mine is in 4 hi right now and has been since 1:00 yesterday afternoon and I just hit the remote start and it fired right up.Is yours standard or auto??? If auto I would guess you may not have had the transmission shifter all the way into park ,the transmission was but the shifter wasn't engaging the neutral safety switch and while messing with the 4wd shifter may have moved the trans shifter just enough. If it is standard

snwchris I dont get why it acted up today, since all day yesterday made lots of stops or extended stops and when I got back in it started up just fine eveytime.

Would having in 4wd too long cause an issue???

snwchris SOLVED.....
It was in 4wd overnight and disengaged the lever and it started.

Wow that was wierd, I've never had issues with parking it overnight in 4wd & not starting the next morning.

Jeep wont start, has juice no crank

Woke up this morning to my jeep not wanting to start. It seems to have juice since everything turns on but no crank from starter. Starter was replaced back in November 08.

Not sure what else it is especially for 4:30am... uggghhhh
