|jadmt||bfg makes a 255/80-17 that is tall (33.3") and skinny and looks good. 285/75-17's (34")look pretty tall and skinny too but not skinny like the 255/80-17's|

|RubiNooby||Alright, I've poured over the inter-webs looking for the tallest "pizza-cutter" on the market and I haven't found anything over the 33" diam - 255 75 17's. Does anyone know of a AT or AT/MT mix that's around 34" but stays around 10.5" width? Something like a 255 85 17? I like'em skinny and tall (going to add a metalcloak 2.5 lift in Dec/Jan).|

Took off the lame summertime SRAs and put the winter pizza cutters on a bit early This year, I'm re-geared to 4.10 (from 3.21) with an Eaton E-locker out back.
Can't wait for the snow and jealous neighbours spinning their tires all night on the street while I deal with shovelling the driveway "maaybe after supper... no rush"

Got my new wheels/tires from DTD up the road from Tampa in Lakeland: MB 72s with 235/85/16 Duratracs. Everything looks great. Not super happy with how spare looks on stock carrier; wish it sat the tire closer to vehicle; increased backspacing is big issue here. Added daystar tailgate bumpstops to address this issue, but may need to buy this product allowing adjustment of spare distance, unless anyone has alternative suggestions.
Initial impressions of wheels/tires: not as rough as feared, even though E rated and running at 35 PSI; mileage so far little less than stock SRAs, but they're not broken in yet. I expect will get 20+ again. Tire/Wheel combo looks quite good, handles well on road, nothing funny, unpleasant, or unexpected in handling, grips road well, and size seems well proportioned to wheel wells and should remain so with 1.75" space lift.
Next on the agenda: Puck Lift and new shocks.

Anyone running 235/85/16s on 16x8s? Is this a really bad idea for a DD that only occasionally goes off road and probably will hardly ever air down?
If it is I'll switch to 265/75/16, but I really thoguht the 235 was beautiful but I think the MB 72 is even more beautiful!

|Circa1973||I just ordered BFG AT'sx5, 33x1050r15 from discount tire and, 5 Tracker 15x8 polished for 1559.00 out the door. They even gave me credit for the new Goodyears that came with my sport. Can't wait to get them installed next week!|

|Thwopking||I totally agree.... I'm not a fan of super wide tires on jeeps and some trucks. I really wish more companies made more 33/10.50 in 16-18in rims.|

|Mansizedtarget||I'm aware of that. I don't really want to do a lift yet, and it's a daily driver and mostly highway. Bigger concern is sand/mud/wet road performance in Florida. I think narrower looks better. If it gets better MPG and is decent off road, I think I'm going with it. Cheaper than the 12.5" wides too.|

|Thwopking||That only comes out to about a 31.75in tire.....|

|Mansizedtarget||I'm thinking 235/85/16 Duratracs on MB72s. Thoughts? Anyone have pics of this?|

i'd like to see what's rubbing on a non-lifted JK with 255/80 R17 or 255/85 R16 on the stocker wheels.
I'll have to search that up. It's got to be documented, photographed and the subject of a trimming plastic how to guide somewhere on the internet. :-)

|TOK||Lots of great info in this thread, marked! I'm wanting to run larger tires on stock 17's, but definitely don't need mega width. Great to see pics of the various configurations.|

|03-10-2013 02:41 PM|
|cornfedksboy||You can put 33" tires on there.|
|03-10-2013 02:11 PM|
|snakeoil||What will be the tallest I can put on a standard Sport with 16inch rims,and no lift and no spacers?|

|Thwopking||That's a little taller than a 31/10.50/15 depending on the tire...like 1/4in taller|
|03-09-2013 04:33 PM|
|snakeoil||So,what would 265x7rxr16's be? Tis is the tire I want,but I know 245's will fit...|
