I'd also like to know. I will probably do this to my 06 Rubi sooner rather than later (~42,500) just to be safe.

I just ordered and put in the Dorman version and it is a nice part. Rockauto had it in stock at the time and shipping was quick.

SeVeReDiStOrTiOn Google part number 53010624AC...the lowest price i've seen for a mopar unit is $120. Even with shipping it's way cheaper than the dealer. Put a new gasket on also it's like $2.

I've never ordered through these guys Mopar 53010624AC OIL PUMP DISTRIBTR

I've bought parts through these guys and they ship pretty fast. Same price as above but i'd call to make sure they have it in stock. 53010624AC: DISTRIBTR-OIL PUMP

jkp There are several online Mopar parts houses that sell the part. Just search for Mopar parts.

Rock Auto sells the aftermarket unit made by Dorman.

JeepGirl06 That would be awesome if you could get that link, cause JEEP just said they couldnt get it in for me..
01-01-2013 02:47 PM
Jwolfer I wouldnt go to the dealerahip for it. They like to get us to pay more even though its a defect. I'm not sure where to get the part and I am on my phone now so I can't get a link. I can get it to you when I get home if someone else doesn't get it to you first.

JeepGirl06 I'll def call JEEP today and see if they can order me a new part! thanks so much.
01-01-2013 02:36 PM
Jwolfer You can get a replacement odpa for around $200 from what I understand. Good luck.

Rubicon06Va Sounds like you may have a bad OPDA! Dont start or drive your Jeep, you could blow or may have blown/damaged your engine. Premature wear of the Oil Pump Assembly gear. Laughing Monkey's is the term as said by previous responder.

06 Wrangler making noise

I dont know if this is where this post goes but..

Just a week ago my jeep started making a funny noise under the hood near the back passenger side of the engine...
Kinda sounds like a turkey being strangled.

We replaced the belts and the pulleys.. but that didnt fix it.
I have a toyota person telling me its a cam shaft synchronizer but wanted to see if that was a major problem in jeeps to cause that noise..

thanks.
