Oh, finally I found my #.
2013 JKUS. Bought it in Dec 2012.
Built date: Sept 12 (does it mean Sept 12th or Sept 2012?)
Looks like I have an AC head.

|AGNP2013||Can anyone upload a video in YouTube how to check the part number of the head and let me know?|

|Lusus_Naturae||I'd lean towards AA, just because the rumor has been the AB lasted about 6 weeks before the AC started, which would place the AB head starting about June 13 or so. There's no way to tell for sure at this point though.|

The close date though would say you are more likely to have an AB head, which is said to be less likely to have issues.

|back in the game||So I am assuming all of the COD MW3s will have this issue!|

2013 model, built July 27 2012.
Passenger head 2012B
Drivers side 2022A
Looks like I've got problem prone heads. Missed the redesign by about 5 days. What's with the A and B? Does that just designate left and right side?

According to the posts above and this calendar... May 30, 2013, which indicates AC head.

|Lusus_Naturae||A lot of dealer will tell you they don't have any problems. My dealer started telling me this too, and then he just stopped mid-sentence because he realized I already knew - they had one 3 stalls away with the head being replaced and I just walked through the shop. He meant well, in that they don't want customers to worry, but it comes down from the big boss that you don't talk about it too.|

I finally just checked my 2013 JKR (built August 2013) - 2152B
That means August 2, 2012...beating 2062 (July 24, 2012) by just a little more than a week. I hope those dates are correct.
Thanks for the info.

|Xena1||Thanks for the info! I emailed Chrysler customer service who responded with this cleverly worded statement that there is no evidence of a defective head or head components on the 2012 Wranglers. Hey s***t can happen, but I was hoping Chrysler would own up to the problem and fix it. My 2012 has 15K miles and without problems, but would like to know when at 50K miles what will happen.|

|LameStory||I'm getting a bit worried myself. I haven't looked at the head itself but my Jeep has a build date of Feb. 14th, 2012 so I'm definitely at risk. I'm at almost 9000 miles so far. Sucks because I want to put a supercharger on it next year but I'm sure they'll use that to get out of covering my head under warranty if it blows - even if it is a known problem.|
|07-25-2013 12:43 AM|
How many miles does it have now? There is a wide range of when the head problems are showing up, and a variety of symptoms as well. If you are in warranty they will replace it under warranty - once diagnosed, which can be a battle in itself.
Here's a few to start -

|Xena1||The question I would like to know is; When did Chrysler change the A head to the B heads? My 2012 was made on 12/16/11. Does it mean I have the defective head?|
