How did you ever make out? Saw this as an old thread. I really like the BedTred/BedRug products, just don't have my LJ kit created yet. Was wondering which way you finally went.

I wouldn't mind swapping over to the Bed Liner idea, but my Jeep is used as a family car once and a while and I doubt that the wife would be cool with that. Besides, I want something to keep the noise and heat down when I take it on long drives on the highway.
You can always take it out, wash it, let it dry and dye it... if you really are only looking for a color change. Think hard about black tho', I have had black carpet in several vehicles and every piece of lint, paper scrap, speck shows, let alone mud/dirt in a Jeep, it'll always look dirty, even when it isn't really... JMO of course, and the voice of experience

man44a I looked in to this a couple months ago. I read as many reviews as I could find and used any website that had any information.

Most people prefered the molded carpets as they seem to go on easiest and hold shape well. It does seem however that you will have to do some trimming somewhere as there is always extra material. Your options are few though.

The best prices I could find where on ebay. Black is an option, too. Dont forget the spray adhesive. It took about 2 cans for me to replace all pieces but it doesnt slide at all.

Of note, I reused my original carpet. I took it to one of those car washes with the hand help sprayer. I hung the carpets from the floormat holders, used the sprayer with soap, and power washed them all. It really got out all the spots and grime. Not gonna change the color to black though.

knox Is your carpet that bad? I recently took out ALL my carpet, put it in the driveway and washed it with a tire brush and waterhose. It came surprisingly clean. If yours isnt so nasty maybe you can save it.

jgano23 i am a big advocate of bed lining the interior. you could bed line it and get floor mats. if you are dead set on carpets, though, i think all of the "cut it yourself" brands pretty much equal. i would spent the extra $$$ and go with a molded pre-cut carpet. a few years ago i got the vinyl carpet and screwed it up royally. i ended up throwing it out and wasted $200.

TJ Carpet Replacement

I am looking at ordering new carpet for my 1997 TJ. Any suggestions on which brand to go with?

I was looking at one from Rugged Ridge online. Its a good price, however, it is not molded and needs to be glued. That sounds like a pain.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
