onetraveller I find it interesting that the dyno chart on the Airaid website for this starts at 3000 rpm. My engine rarely makes it above 3000 rom in daily driving. But more importantly, why cut the graph off? Is there a low rpm power loss they are hiding?

BeyondYourFrontDoor I have the Airaid... got it because my buddy put one on his Ecoboost and said it was great. It isn't great. It's a tad louder at WOT, not annoyingly loud, but not really great sounding either. Mileage is the same. Power is the same. Air filtration is a big ??? because tests have shown the factory filter to do best in extreme dust.

Now... considering how cheap factory air filters are... there really isn't a cost saving to having a washable filter, though you might be able to service it in the field if necessary. (that would be a stretch).

Anyway... I'd gladly give you mine if you wanted to swap me back for a factory intake.

Ditto for my Banks exhaust. After removing a perfectly good pipe and exhaust, and comparing it to the Banks, the only think you are getting is a more rumbly muffler. However, I do quite like the sound of it... but in hindsight I'd just get a new muffler. The stock tubing is all mandrel bent and the Banks it no bigger or better. In fact, there are 5 clamps needed to keep it together, vs 2 for the stock.

If you've got money, go ahead, because my experience is everyone asks about CAI's, but they already have their mind made up.

I love it because it makes the engine sound fantastic and that puts a smile on my face every time I turn the key which is the point of driving a Wrangler. And I love it because the engine response became noticeably more linear. Finally, I love it because it does NOT cost me more $$$ in fuel everytime I drive the Jeep which is something none of the CAI haters on this forum can say about any of their mods.

dcaprio I have this kit. It looks and sounds great, but beyond that I can't say I have noticed any performance differences. At first I was getting 2-3 mpg, but after a few months I am back down to where I was before the install.

What's great about the AIRAID MXP Series Cold Air Intake system is it still protects the air filter from mud or water. Some cold air intake system just put a filter on the end of a tube but don't offer any protection from mud or water getting in. Compared to your mustang you might not see as much of a HP gain depending on how it was set up.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'd be happy to help you out. Shot me a PM and I can hook you up with the WF discount.
