20 minutes... TOTAL plug n' play. Amazing! No pairing of the phone... blah blah blah. It just works perfect.
I got a 430N RBH from a 2013 Jeep. Love it. It was the only option I really wanted on the Sport that I couldn't have without paying for a Rubicon.
I don't know if it's just in my head, but it does seem to have more power than my 130S did. Does anybody know if that's true?

After reading all the great info on this thread i ordered my 430 RBZ from OEM Autoparts.com as I was tired of waiting on EBay. When I ordered my unit I told them exactly what I wanted, a 2011 or newer anti theft unit and backlit in green, I also asked for the latest and greatest jeep software their response was no problem. Installation was a breeze plug and play, I freaked a little when I first powered it up, a Volkswagen screen came up and then it asked for the code, as soon as I put in the code the screen changed immediately to the jeep screen with the black background, Whoo Hoo I am good to go!Attachment 783369

|Segfault||Just ordered mine off eBay. I've been following this thread for awhile and decided to take the plunge. After this arrives, it'll be time to upgrade the speakers, get an LOC and amp. Then I should be ready for the summer in Texas!|

|panthermark||It does not have to be from a 2012...mine is from a 2010. But...you do want to make sure it comes from a vehicle with the proper options so you have all the inputs. Also, make sure it fits a Wrangler. There are two types of RBZ's, some have the holes on the sides, some on the top/bottom.|

|Gumbys69||Ok, so on my 2014 its a high bus and I should look for a 430 RBZ from a 2012 and up? If so I need to make sure I have the 4 digit pin code or at least the VIN from the donor vehicle right? Anything else I need to look for? Looking on Ebay etc there are lots but just unsure what works and what doesn't, I want to be 100% sure when I order it that its going to work. Thanks!|

|panthermark||I don't think mine sounded any better with the RBZ...but that was awhile ago, and I have an RBZ with older software.|

|Gumbys69||So was there any sound quality difference when you switched from a 130 to a 430?|

|bdubz23||I had a ram logo when I first powered it up... But it switched to jeep within a few seconds|

|bdubz23||I picked up an rb2 430 on eBay from oemautoparts for $255 with a best offer. Plug n play in my 2014 jku. Works great. Just doesn't have Sirius like the rbz does. Not worth the extra money for Sirius in my opinion.|

I just got my 430, and was wondering...
Looking at the back of the unit, and the cover for what I think is the hard drive, it looks like this takes a standard laptop hard drive.
Has anyone tried to put a bigger drive in one of these?

Looking for a 430 RBZ from a 2014 Model
If someone with a 430 RBZ in a 2014 Wrangler is looking to upgrade their stereo from the 430 RBZ to something else, I would be interested in the stereo head to replace my 130S. I don't need the navigation but would have liked to get the touch screen. Just wasn't available without Navigation on the 2013 Rubicon when I ordered it.
I have till May for my Sirius trial to expire so Not in a big hurry.
Let me know what you want for it
I guess if nothing comes up I will have to go with the OEMAUTOPARTS stereo when the time comes.
Thanks in advance

My friend gave me his RBZ from his durango but sadly the mounting screws are the top and bottom not on the sides. Have any one figure a way to mount the rbz in or a custom install? Thank you!

As you may already know, the 506 models don't require a 4 digit code and the 509 models do. All 509 models have the newer software. However, the 506 RBZ radios built for 2011 model year vehicles (late 2010-early 2011) also have the newer software and can be updated to the latest 50.xx.xx software. The best part is they don't require a 4 digit code. The 2011 RBZ, in my opinion, has the best of both worlds. They are harder to find though.

|Deepjeep1371||Just a little note, when you rip a cd to the hard drive you get music art work as well. Burning cds then ripping doesn't always work depending on how they are coded.|

It almost makes you angry when you think about how much a dealer charges to do the swap.

Got er Done...
Well I got my P506 model from a 2012 Ram installed today and even in Florida I didn't even sweat! People it's truly a plug&play install and wow I'm so impressed in the immediate difference in appearance, sound and function of this swap! If your thinking of this for yourself,do some reading,do the research, then go shopping all there was to it!!!!

Is there any way to check without pulling it out? Because I'm not even sure.
The seller informed me that it was a 2009-model.
As it is, it works great and I've got no complaints, but the Jeep logos would be nice. From the reading I've been doing, it looks like newer models will automatically switch and older models need the PCM flash?

|cringer||That is really old. What is the part number?|

Is my system info screen.
Everything works, I just want the Jeep logos and to know if any firmware past 10.00.11 will work.

The one I got changed over about 3 seconds after I turned it on.
It was manufactured Feb 2012

I got my RBZ in last night. Installed a satellite antenna (For some reason it wouldn't work from the factory location. Had to install it on the windshield frame) and XM fired right up and started working great. Thanks HELLBENDER!
My question is, how long does it take to switch to the Jeep logos? I've heard several different answers.
1) It takes a few power cycles and automatically switches.
2) It has to be dealer-flashed so the JK doesn't think it's in 130-mode anymore.
3) It takes as many as 20 power cycles.
Which is it? Lol. I don't mind the Chrysler logos so much but I'd really like the Jeep logos and interface.
I believe HELLBENDER said that his RBZ was a pull from a 2009. What's the latest firmware it can use? It's got 10.XX.XX currently.
