|dawhitesJKU||seems like a reasonable price for the install. i went to offroadevolution here in southern cali last week to talk about lifts and they told me its 500.00 to install a shortarm lift kit. 500.00 less than what i thought it would be.|

Damnnnn, that labor rate is low... I'm seriously jealous! Everything I need done professionally in my area (Northern VA) is $75 to $100/hour.
Congratulations btw! POST PICS NOW!

Got it back this afternoon they charged 420.00 for labor, and 4.19 for some break fluid. Took them 12 hours. This shop is really well known in my area and did a good job of the lift install.
They also had a 4 door JKUR that the did a 5.9 Cummings swap and it sat on 40".

|Matador||The Flex kit has the front lower control arms, couple that install with the pinch seam work and welding of the rear bracket your looking at about a 8-10 install. Most shops in NY have a labor rate between $80-$100/hour so an install for your kit and the body work your looking at about an $800-$1,000 install charge. If the shop doing the work for you is charging you less than $500, make sure that they are fully aware of the kit they are installing and all the work involved because it seems really underpriced. I have done 3 RK kits and could probably knock it out in less than 8 hours, if I'm doing it alone. If I have someone helping me that kit could take me 6 hours. I can't see it being done correctly any faster than than, so I would ask them for an estimated install time and what their hourly labor rate is. If they are only charging you $50/hour than I say have them install it, you should be good. If they charge $100/hour than something is adding up.|

I can defiantly do the install, and would have loved to do it. When I had my TJ it was one of my joys to take it apart.

Post in your local forum. Guaranteed somebody will help for $0
Ok... Maybe some beer and pizza.
The satisfaction of doing the work yourself and learning a little bit about your jeep is the best part.

The rear track bar mount should be welded to the axle, that is what they're going to refer to.
I can do that amount of work in about 7-8 hours, by myself, on jack stands..However sometimes those exhaust spacers can be a real bear to install and seal. The more I do, the more I dislike them.

That's what I thought. I dropped it by a jeep shop this morning at 8:30 and at 4:30 told me it should be done by 10:30 tommorrow. I was quoted 420.00 dollars for the install and am wondering if this effects it any?
I also over heard him saying something about weld-in brackets??? I thought the kit was bolt-on?

Rock Krawler Flex lift install
How long should it take a shop to install a rock Krawler 2.5" flex lift. With exhaust spacers and trimming pinch seam and rubi rails
