Backup light

I mounted this and will likely move it above the spare tire. I just need to find someone to custom fab one for me.

The Rigid D2 throws a lot of light out.

The antenna bracket is a tereflex bracket that is made to fit stock tire carrier. I drilled an extra hole in the E1 carrier. There are several holes already drilled from E1 for attachments.
I also took the stock third brake light and made a bracket to attach to the E1 carrier inside of my rims. It makes the skull yes light up when braking

NFRs2000NYC Just do as described above...mount the SRMs on the tail-light brackets. Looks clean, light is better since it's higher up, cake to install, and best of all, no need to slice up your bumper.

gleek I have a Rigid D2 diffused mounted temporarily on one of the holes of the e1 rear bumper. I need to get fabricated a metal bracket to mimic what AEV does with their bumper light mount (above the spare tire).

mhaines I'm looking at the rigid srm and mounts. They mount on top of stock taillights
A pic I borrowed, it's a diffused lense but they also come in spot and driving

The dually D2 may be too big. The SR-M may be the one that might fit. If you look at Exp1 bumper, the only location I can think of, is the flat notched section in the middle. You can put the two lights - one on the left side of the spare tire and one on the right of the spare tire as close to the edge as you can.

BronxDiver Thanks mhaines. I've heard it's a pretty easy install. Glad to hear good feedback. Now just need to figure out some lighting for the thing!

LarsA BronxDiver, you have good taste; I'm looking at the same 2 bumper/tire carriers right now! Too bad they're so expensive. Expedition One is offering free shipping right now, but that's it. I haven't found them cheaper anywhere; have you? LoD is a bit more reasonably priced (and available from more vendors), but I think the Exp One is the one I really want...

Sorry, can't help you on the backup lights.

Great pic, mhaines!

Cheers,

LarsA

sunnykk I am in the same boat. I love the expedition one bumper because of the styling and mainly the tire carrier being attached to the tailgate. But the LOD has the backup lights.

Rigid makes Flush mount lights. There are two series the D-series and the SRM. The SRM are much smaller.

I was hoping, the bumper would have some space to do the cutouts for the SRM.

Well - I called Expedition one and talked to them about it. The lady told me that there is no way there is anything that can be mounted on to the bumper.

My next step is to get the exact dimensions of the SRM and then call expedition one and directly talk to the actual mechanic/engineer and see if he can confirm if the SRM will fit or not.

I am hoping the SRM flush mounts will fit the expedition one. That will make my decision really easy.

I'm interested in the Expedition One rear as well. Hoping to get some good inspiration here for backup lighting options as well.

Expedition One Rear Bumper backup lights?

Hi everyone. I'm planning on starting some mods to my 2012 Unlimited. I've been looking at rear bumpers and like the Expedition One Trail Series Rear Bumper with Smooth Motion Tire Carrier. I like the link to the rear door so they open together and also that the pivot the tire carrier swings on has greased bearings. I'm looking for some options for installing LED reverse lights on or into the bumper. I was also considering the LOD Door Linked Signature Series rear bumper which has rear light cut outs right in the bumper but it doesn't have the bearings. I've heard the bearing style tire swings are smoother. Also I haven't seen many reviews of the LOD Door Link. The Expidition One has had some great reviews and is suppose to be "rattle-free"! And suggestions or opinions? I'm sure there are plenty out there!!!
