Mello Mike Do it, Dude!!! You'll regret it if you don't. I'd take an '06 Rubi any day over a JK.

Gary2 I have an 05 with no problems and I wasn't waiting either . I bough a new OPDA and sent my old one to "StripperGuy" on Jeep Forum for him to work his magic on. I reinstalled it and its been fine and don't expect to see a problem with it , ever. He is one of the smartest people you will ever encounter and has come up with a mod for the OPDA that will probably let it live longer than the 4.0 itself . If the 06 has what you want buy it , they are not getting any newer.

Jwolfer I've got an 06 Rubi with 42,500 on it and it is an awesome Jeep. I haven't had any issues with the ODPA yet (knock on wood) so don't let that change your mind. I'd say go for it. Especially since it has both tops.

Rayko I'd much rather have the last of the TJ's than any JK.

DrewG The only thing that I can think of with the 2005 and 2006 is that some of 'em had problems with the Oil Pump Drive Assembly (OPDA) blowing up and ruining peoples days.

I wouldn't let that keep me from buying it, though. Maybe useful as a bargaining tool, though.

MarkGLHS the '06 Rubi is quite possibley one of the best, if not the best, Wrangler ever made including the current generation of Wranglers.

if you found a nice clean bone stock creampuff TJ Rubi for NADA pricing I say grab it. I looked for 7 months for such a deal and the one single cream puff TJ Rubi I did find was sold literally 3 minutes before I got to the lot.

About to buy an 06 rubicon!!

Hey guys after several months of shopping around, i finally found what I think will be my first Jeep. Its an 06 Rubicon, bone stock, very clean inside and out, appears to not have been used offroad. Hard top and factory soft top. It has 38,000 on the clock. The stealership is asking $21,000 and i got them down to 19,500, but im really shooting for $18,500 since I know this vehicle has veen on thier lot for quite a while.

Is there any specific problems with this model year of the Wrangler? Anything specific I should check out before buying it? Were the fog lights on the bumper an option (this one doesnt have foglights)?

Any insight would be appreciated!
